Winry is such a strong character- love how Arakawa so subtly took all the traits that are generally shown to be a weakness in a woman and made them Winry's strengths- but here we get to see her when she's most vulnerable. (Aside from when she learned Scar murdered her parents.) I feel so bad for her too. She's always so worried about Ed- that he might not make it back to her, and this was such a sweet look into the relationship between their younger selves.

I love this. Winry is one of my favorites- a strong woman who doesn't have to be a warrior. She's just herself and she's content being just that. What a nice look into her own vulnerability- we didn't really get a lot of how she felt, just how worried she was about Ed, although I can really only speak for the later show- I haven't seen much of the original, but I'm familiar with this episode. I like seeing her own thoughts on what happened her and on what Ed's automail means.

Oh this is adorable. This episode was so creepy and this look at what might have happened afterwards was very plausible. I don't blame Winry- it must be so scary to understand that someone you love may have to kill someone someday. Killing someone changes people. I'd imagine she'd be afraid of what that would mean for Ed.

Love the fresh perspective on Winry and her work, and the way you captured the characters perfectly. Great job!

Interesting view of Ed's automail. I haven't seen that before.

Usually when one considers Winry's feelings towards Ed's automail, you would think of her worries with what he does TO his arm and leg. I have to say that I've never thought about how she feels about what he does WITH the arm and leg. Also, the bit with Ed using Al's arm as a pillow is really sweet.

Wow! Winry should have chewed Ed out about that. Never really thought about what that would mean to her, because, you know...anime.

This is by far my favorite of your FMA pieces - I've read it through three times. It's just so *fantastic*. It captures both Ed and Winry - and the relationship between them - so perfectly. I absolutely love it.

Aw...it's adorable. I love the mid-end and how you put it in Winry's perspective, and I would have never thought (at least not now or before) that Ed's transmuting his arm into a dagger held that much meaning...didn't it? At least for Winry, anyway. _
