If i were Kirk, id leave Uhura alone. I mean, he expressed jnterest in wantinb to listen to her but she is not responding. So i say that her heartache and eventual heartbreak is her karma for being a bitch.

And Uhura? Why would she favor Spock with this when Spock is ultimately dissing her entire race?

I love this chapter because of its realistic expectation. Winona was a shitty mother and George left him to fend for himself. People always forget that and try to create a story where Jim understands and forgives them. I dont. If im in his place, i wont. Winona for me is irredeemable. Not of Kirk's future kids should be in the same planet as she is. But let's not talk about her. For me, no one can try and make me like her. With George, people can say that he was young and he cant take care of Jim. But people also forget that Jim was YOUNGER. What if he died for the abuse he got from Frank? While we cant expect George to fight Frank because he was young himself and we cant blame him for leaving because you cant expect people to live like that. What im blaming him for is for leaving Jim behind. Not for leaving because with the abuse, that's the natural response. But he was selfish and he was only thinking about himself. If he brought Jim with him, even if they both died, Jim would not blame him because his brother did not leave him behind. So yeah, i cant forgive George too. What lesson us he teaching his son...that its okay to save himself first and leave his younger sister or brother in the event of a disaster? There may not be a rule or law but it is always, always the responsibility of the elder child to protect the younger one. Period.

I know it's been years, but I really hope you'll continue this! it's one of my favorite slow build fics of all time ! I love the amount of detail and thought that went into this and I truly hope you will post more of it. just... wow. really really good. many moments had me grinning like a fool & some others left me misty eyed. an unforgettable fic. thank you for this :,)
