| Viscount Anarchy chapter 1 . 9/20/2019 I've known about this story for forever, but for whatever reason I never got around to reading it until now. The story is good, but it's all over the place. I'd almost say that it reads as two distinct stories, in part due to the prologue taking up the first third of the story. After all that heavy shit, then we get to normal slice-of-live school stuff. It's weird. Harry is a pretty huge, apathetic asshole in this story. Yet in true dark!Harry fashion, he still has three witches vying for his affection. To be honest, there's almost no likeable characters in this story. Harry's an asshole, but Daphne and co are some of the most annoying characters I've ever read in a fanfic, and I've read my fair share. Out of all of them Bellatrix is somehow the most bareable. As for whether or not this story still holds up due to age. For the most part, it's fine. It obviously feels like a story of that era with a lot of pet spells and such, and it has the moodiness that just really isn't seen these days, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. |
