Now, this is far more fun than the animation. Well, can't blame the animator to make Shisui and Ao's encounter to be all serious in order to show Shisui's power (Ao retreats, clearly portray Shisui's name and power in the ninja world) but I remember being quite dissapointed with that scene. And this is why I love fanfic. Your Shisui is such a goofball. The humor is on point. I like your last paragraph, showing that Ao indeed remembered Shisui, as a person.

Sooo I read this story a loooong time ago and I apparently did not review it. So, I stumbled upon it again tonight and as soon as I read the summary I started squealing because I just remembered how much I had loved it the first time around.
AND IT STILL AS AMAZING SO MANY YEARS LATER.

I just looove Shisui and I love how you wrote their encounter, this is definitely my headcanon for it now. SO mach better than what happened in canon. (...Nothing happened, actually?)
This is so cute, fun and heartwarming. There are so many jokes that made me laugh so much, like Shisui introducing himself as Momoiro, or Ao giving love advice to Shisui. "I will introduce you to my cousin. My cousin with whom I have a platonic brotherly relationship" , I just lost it here haha! I wish Ao could have visited him. Also, the angst part about Aka and Kagami's eye was also welcomed, there is some untold understanding that's nice to see. Really I love this.

Wow it was such a nice story. To think it took all of three lines to write this amazing fic.
Though when fighting the Phantom, Shisui's suufen anger was because his father's Eyes had been in Phantom's possession?
Loved the fic and especially the the way you wrote the end.

This was... really, really sweet. Not in a tooth-achingly cotton candy way, but in a wistful sort of once-upon-a-dream way.

This is so much better than the anime version (in which Ao saw Shisui 1000 meters away and ordered his team to retreat therefore not really coming into contact and actually fighting) LOL

I absolutely love Shisui. It just kills me that he died.

I had a great time reading your story (and I think this is my new headcanon about the encounter between Ao and Shisui)!
Your characterization is excellent (grumpy Ao, carefree Shisui and an unexpected alliance) but the best is that your story is full of humor (hair is sacred in Mist :) ). My favorite moment is when Shisui introduce himself as Momoiro. I also enjoyed all the allusions to Itachi and Konoha matters :)
