| That'sMzPeachesTYVM chapter 10 . 5/12/2016 I have a theory about that particular verse in Deuteronomy. It's kind of involved, but let's just say that I believe that sin begets sin as parents model it in front of their children and that with every generation, certain 'familial' sins distill and become more rampant with each passing generation until someone choses righteousness and repents. (Repentance being a 'turning away from.' Not just saying sorry.) I believe that is the only way to break that kind of sin cycle in a family. So, it isn't truly God who visits sin upon us, but He doesn't eradicate it, either. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman, who woos us and sends us gentle, coaxing conviction. He never forces Himself on us. Okay, off of my soap box. (For now! LOL) |
