RawenclawBabe chapter 35 . 10/8/2012
This truly is an amazing story, but your author's note at the end of this chapter bugs me.

I'm aware that Philipp is part of the house Wittelsbach and they are usually referred to as Bavaria. But you wrote that Bavaria wouldn't return to catholicism in your story and that sounds really strange to me - mostly because I wrote my master thesis about the diplomacy between France and the Bavarian elector Maximilian I. - he gained the Palatinate's electorate by supporting the emperor against his cousin Friedrich V. (Palatinate) in Bohemia.
I'm certain you meant to say the Palatinate line of the house Bavaria, because the reformation didn't have much success in Bavaria (Ober-und Niederbayern) governed by the Bavarian line of the house Wittelsbach.

The Wittelsbach in the Palatinate remained Protestant, they later became Calvinistic though. Somehow your version of Philipp strongly reminds me of Friedrich V. who was the elector of the palatinate at the beginning of the 30 Years War - and he was even married to an English princess (Elisabeth Stuart).

you gotta learn about quotation marks for your dialog. it makes things easier to understand.
MinisterSweetGoodKid chapter 1 . 12/7/2011
The title of this story is what grabbed me, and by reading this prologue, I really, really like this. All I can say is that it is powerful, indeed and I look forward to diving into the rest of this work. Great job so far and the narrating was right on.

Its' going to take a while for me to work through this story, but I love it so far. I wish I'd discovered this site sooner, and watched as these stories developed, lol. But yes, excellent writing. I love it. Great narative, and descriptive writing.

Well at last they got it on and it was so brilliantly written - I loved this chapter again.

I think what I enjoyed the most in this story is once more the perspectives; I think I've said something like that before. But it is just fasinating to read what someone thinks from the outside and then what is really going on in their mind/lives like with Kitty and Mary.

I am wondering if Culpepper is going to come in to the story though perhaps one adulterous relastionship is enough for any story hey?

But what a story it is! Give yourself a pat on the back!

Rocks-my-socks chapter 15 . 3/12/2011
Another great couple of chapters here which I really enjoyed.

It was very interesting to see the party arrive at Hunston. Poor Philip, I did feel for him when the baby wouldn’t settle with him but when he has been at court throughout the pregnancy, little Philipp wouldn’t know his voice would he? I suppose the same thing can be said of Henry and the others but still...

I *love* your Kitty – normally she is not a character I am overly fond of. I feel sorry for her in the end, but she always seemed to me the sort of girl in the play ground I’d avoid. (though saying that I went through my wardrobe last night and thinking about it now, perhaps I am a bit of a Kitty myself when it comes to clothes!). But I think you have made her very sassy, I loved her listening in. I am also intrigued about her and Philips friendship!

More interesting development of Mary – she is so complex! She’s a neglected daughter (and in some ways wife) who is viewed as a breading machine one minute (I wanted to punch Henry when he was thinking only about his precious need for sons) and then the next she is thinking about burning Heretics! These flaws in her make her all the more interesting to read about though.

I am loving this fic :)

I agree with you about the historical aspect and the research; in you writing it really shows you know your stuff and that is really important when writing a historical piece! I really enjoy your Author Notes as well as the actually story!

I ADORE the fact it was Euastace with Mary when she gave birth - I am thinking it can only strengthen there bond furthur! And that dream at the end... the plot thickens right? :)
Rocks-my-socks chapter 11 . 3/2/2011
I almost found POB sweet here carrying Mary to bed! But where has he gone? I know - I have to read on to find out :)

Great chapter :)

Rocks-my-socks chapter 8 . 2/24/2011
The Love/hate relastionship between them which you are setting up is perfect! The ending to that chapter made me melt :)
Rocks-my-socks chapter 6 . 2/23/2011
"All the covers they had on them had not been enough to keep them from the sun hitting them. Mary thought she was imagining things, but when the light hit them, the only one whose the light seemed to focus its shine was on her rather than Phillip. There was no halo on him, or light in his lips. He was touched only by shadows." - that was so beautiful! I read it a few times through and the image just became more so in my head.

What a chapter number 6 was! I feel so sorry for Eustace!
Rocks-my-socks chapter 3 . 2/23/2011
Poor Eustace - sounds as if he has caught it already!
