i must say that i really enjoyed reading this, and that it was nice to see this from javier and that it goes in what is feeling
feartown chapter 1 . 3/24/2011
found this via a rec on the castle wiki, and i just wanted to say that i really liked it - i am such a sucker for esposito knowing beckett better than beckett wants to think he knows her, i am almost more interested in their relationship than castle and beckett sometimes (idk idk, i kind of like they slept together at some point too, maybe), but i digress - this was a nice look into their dynamic, and the team dynamic and also i ship kate beckett/emotions so hard so that element was lovely too. great story.
ApollaCammi chapter 1 . 11/16/2010
"Somebody else - a few somebodies, actually - weren't going anywhere. Not for the summer, not any other time, and that was what she would lean on."

I love that this is very much a team fic, even though only Kate and Javier are actually there. I don't know what to say, other than this is a wonderfully introspective piece about Kate, and reading it again, after seeing the premiere, explains a lot about why they reacted the way they did when Castle came back, and why Kate lost the bet. :D It's wonderful, darling.

Oh wow- this story is brilliant! I love love LOVE the exposition you have given to the relationship with Beckett and her team- and I really hope well see some of this play out in the third season. Beautifully, beautifully written.

Alamo Girl chapter 1 . 6/1/2010
Oh thank you for writing something so well done and in character. And for letting Kate deal with this in the perfect way - with the punching bag. And i love that you had Esposito be there for her. Because when it comes down to it, it's him and Ryan and the thers who will always be there for her.

Loved the friendship in this. Very very nice!
Bren Williams chapter 1 . 5/28/2010

corlando chapter 1 . 5/27/2010
Wow. This was really fantastic. I love how Kate is angry at everyone and at no one. Very realistic. How she can see all sides and all angles, even her role in what went down. How Castle was just being Castle, how Demming was innocent collateral damage, how Esposito was nothing but an honest friend, and how her own defenses may have aided in bringing about her pain. Its everyone's fault and no ones. Great metaphors throughout this piece for accepting help and moving forward. And not giving up. I'm looking forward to reading more of your stories. Thanks for writing.
Nathan fan chapter 1 . 5/27/2010
I hardly know where to begin! This is an absolutely fantastic piece of writing, both for the plot and characters as well as the skill with which you crafted the story. I LOVED it! Please bear with me, as I have a lot to say about it. First off, I appreciate the realism of Kate not knowing who it is she wants to punish, even considering the possibility that she could be punching herself. I think it's great that she can see Demming as the innocent victim in all of this and I loved the comment that, "You don't have to be murdered to be a vic." I thought it was very clever how you took the common phrase - just what the doctor ordered - and turned it into a reference to Lanie. It was great that you pointed out Castle's inability to be alone. You had a wonderful piece of imagery with her words, deny, allow, hurt, repeat - keeping time with her fists, and I also loved the way that you personified the bag. What a perfect entry line for Esposito!I love that you told us what he was wearing and pointed out the significance of the fact that he had done this deliberately. Another fantastic image was -"a patient and a visitor." You wrote Esposito's voice PERFECTLY! He's a man of a few words but has the knack of saying a lot in those few words. I LOVED Kate's metaphorical thought that Esposito was stronger backup than Demming. I also loved Esposito's bruise from Lanie and the way he referred to her as the "good doctor." I loved Kate's thought that, "It was easy to blame him for shedding light on Castle's intentions. It was easier to thank him." The BEST part of all was her epiphany, realizing that the summer might just be livable and that she had other people in her life that she could lean on. Her laugh was beautiful! I have to point out one more part because it is absolutely INCREDIBLE writing! When Esposito says, "C'mon - you gonna keep goin' or what?" you inferred that she recognized the metaphor and then wrote, "Keep going. Would it be as simple as it sounded? She'd have the summer to find out. In response to the non-metaphorical version...WHAM!" The beauty of the writing takes my breath away! Awesome ending - "Even if the punching bag didn't make it 'til September." If this portion of time was ever to be put on film, I can't think of more PERFECT portrayal of what happened! Congratulations on an amazing story!

hardly loquacious chapter 1 . 5/25/2010
Oh, I love this. Love it. It's so awesome. Because even though the relationship between Beckett and her boys is so very obvious, I would love for more scenes like this between her and one or the other of them on the show. Love this so very much. And I adore Esposito and Ryan. And they're often underused in fic. Nicely done.
