Well done, Crabtree and Michelle have always been my two favourite characters, and you're right, it would have been great to have seen more of them and more to them. To my mind, both of them were more complex than the show allowed them to be.

Your writing is excellent. More remarkably, you have managed to take two characters from a comedy drama and transform them into two two serious and identifiable personalities. I suspect the two short pieces you have written so far be the first of many little vignettes involving these characters. Eventually, through the additon of an original plotline enabling them to settle into position, they might take their place within a fine wartime romance novel.

Equally good is the clever title you have chosen. It too would lend itself admirably to such a work.

This is a really nice idea, and well-written, I just have one criticism: you make lots of references to Michelle being small and by implication a bit fragile - in the series she is actually quite big (albeit very skinny), about an inch taller than Rene when she's wearing heels so I would guess about 5'8"/5'9" without, assuming her shoes are about 2" high. I'm not just being pedantic, I think this is actually quite important to her character - she's meant to be strong and capable etc etc. I can see that you're trying to make her a bit more vulnerable, but I think maybe if you kept up her other less vulnerable side the contrast between the two aspects would add interest as well as making the story more faithful to the original. I really like it so far though :)

So far so good, you've provided an interesting insight into the characters which fits the shows representation and the static between them is brilliant.
