Go Outside chapter 6 . 9/20/2019
This story is so heartfelt and beautiful . I really enjoyed reading it, thank you so much. I love the way you wrote Hagrid. He has such a beautiful soul. It is so nice to see him caring for Snape and giving him a better chance at life. Thank you!

I loved this! This was great. I really liked the POV change with the Pensieve. I always thought that it was strange that the memories were viewed from an outside perspective in the books. I think it makes a lot more sense that they be viewed as the person who they belong to. It adds more power to them, and understanding, as the thoughts and emotions of the person can be considered as well. I liked this touch a lot.

One thing that I think would make the first chapter more powerful would be ending it after Severus loses consciousness, with his last thoughts, and have him wake up in the next chapter. It would give it more of a cliffhanger, and also make it more emotionally powerful.

I loved this story though! Great job! I love the Hagrid that is portrayed here. :)

Araytigre chapter 6 . 8/22/2012
While I was in the Army, a young soldier was brought into the Emergency Room that I was working in (I did not know him as he was from another unit), he had tried to commit suicide with his rifle while on guard duty, it was a miracle that he survived, but he did. I later found out that this was his third attempt at suicide, the previous two attempts were slid under to rug and ignored (the ones that were in on that were severely punished), this time he finally got the help that he needed, that was in the late 70's. 11 years ago, my (younger) brother committed suicide, he was survived by his wife and two young daughters (ages 5 and 2 1/2 at the time), the youngest one doesn't remember him at all. I proceeded to help my Sister-in-Law to raise my nieces (I had been divorced from the mother of my children for a good many years by that time). We took them to a place called "The Dougy Center" ( .org) that specializes in grieving children, it started here in my home town, and now they have centers all over the country. They went there for several years (we went with them too), and the people and counselors were wonderful, we even stop in and see some of them even now (that we don't really need to). She has since remarried to a great guy and the girls are thriving. Even now as I write this, I can still feel the pain, but it doesn't drive me into a depression like it used to, and around his birthday and the anniversary of his death (which are 2 months apart) it is also somewhat difficult. This subject is a touchy one to say the least, and I am glad that Severus was found by someone who cared enough to recognize that something was wrong and was willing to help, I wish that my brother had allowed for that, but he didn't. Harry was fortunate that Severus recognized that it was an accident that Harry saw what he did (which was HIGHLY personal). Oh! I'm with you, I liked that Harry saw this in the first person POV, it made a lot more sense, rather than the way that JKR did in her books. Thank You. TTFN

I was ashamed, you see, of almost giving up and dying, and was fearful that if he went to the Headmaster, some student would chance to hear of it, and also I didn't trust Albus back then.

-Which showed great intelligence. Glad he was able to stay for the summer, survived the next Christmas, and didn't have to worry about his next summer. Much, anyway.

But notice that Snape never talked about what school time was like after that. No doubt he has too many other memories of times when Hagrid was unable to help that he hopes that Harry never finds.

Nice story!
excessivelyperky chapter 5 . 9/11/2011
"You're so lucky," I said aloud. "You get to stay here with Hagrid, while I have to return to that house and my drunken bastard father again .

-Which he will have to, eventually. Not to mention back to the school where he's the Marauders' chewtoy and Lily's reject. Hagrid can't help with that part, and Dumbledore only sees that he needs the Marauders for the upcoming war, and doesn't want to put them off their feed.

I like the scene with Pettigrew. I thought school was over-what is he still doing there? But of course he'll go running to his friends and tell everyone how brave he was, and what a coward Snivvy was around Medea. Hagrid can't help with that part, either.

But I really like how Severus defended Hagrid when Pettigrew was slamming the giant. That showed real loyalty (which was never shown him, unfortunately, at least not in canon).

Very good chapter.

They mocked him behind his back, thinking he was too dumb to hear what they were saying, or not caring.

-Well, Snape knows how _that_ feels...

-I hated him and yet I desperately wanted his approval.

Yes, that certainly set the model for his other relationships in life, didn't it?

Hagrid is really kind; though it's clear that none of the other teachers or the Headmaster actually cares.

Very good chapter
excessivelyperky chapter 3 . 9/5/2011
"I guess you were lucky, you were one of his own. If you'd been Slytherin, he might have just patted you on the head and given you a lemon drop!"

-How right Snape is. And Hagrid can offer sympathy all he wants, but once Severus is back in school, it'll be just same as ever. After all, Hagrid can only protest so much, before _he's_ offered a lemon drop.

After all, all dark wizards come from Slytherin, and that's out of Hagrid's own mouth.
excessivelyperky chapter 2 . 8/10/2011
I still loved Lily, would probably always love her, despite her rejection of me. But now she, like Mum, had abandoned me, and I had nowhere to turn.

-Pretty much. I love how Hagrid takes care of Severus, though. (surprised that Dumbledore even noticed that Snape's mother died, unless the Prince side of the family ran an obituary.)

And the sad part is that Snape is still going to have to watch his back from both the Marauders and his own house-mates as soon as he goes back to school again. I'm glad he has this comfort-for now.
