Loved it!
NickTonyK chapter 1 . 1/17/2013
Excellent!
sparra-music chapter 1 . 11/5/2011
"Just how do you think they get home? Magic?"

Love this line! I could so hear Newkirk saying this to Barton!

And very good job on having a Newkirk talk that's believable. I've read several versions of this talk between Newkirk and Barton, but yours is the most believable yet, I think. I just don't think Newkirk would be spilling his guts about the operation to him in the middle of that open yard and in front of Schultz, who was guarding Barton at the time (even if he is sort of in on their operation). Your hinting around the truth, with a bit sarcasm thrown in measure, was WAY better.

Thanks for writing this, and keep up the good work.
Jennaya chapter 1 . 7/2/2011
Very well done, love the back story. Each one of these are different and I think yours is one of the best.
XXXXX chapter 1 . 5/17/2011
Love it! This is a fantastic story- I have always loved this episode, so it's great to see you build on that!

Hope you have something new up soon.
Livia2001 chapter 1 . 2/11/2011
Great story!
Marie1964 chapter 1 . 10/21/2010
I thoroughly enjoyed this entire back story on Newkirk's viewpoint towards liking Hogan/officers in general. It would make sense that LeBeau would be working with him in stealing the watch. I'm glad that he decided to stick up for Hogan.
Crystal Rose of Pollux chapter 1 . 10/19/2010
Ooh, I love how this is another version of the "what Newkirk said to Barton" plot, but is so different from all the others. Each one ended up being so unique, and this is no exception!

The backstory was what really made this one stand out-how Newkirk came to respect Hogan (and, of course, I love how you mentioned LeBeau being Newkirk's partner in crime...).

And, of course, Newkirk's anger towards Barton was justified and well dealt with.
Pantherfan16 chapter 1 . 10/15/2010
Awesome Story!
St PA chapter 1 . 10/15/2010
Thank you for a wonderful story. Thank you also for explaining how chocolate was scarce or impossible to obtain in wartime Germany. I've always wondered why and how Schultz could be bribed and enticed just by a candy bar(s). Now I realize how scarce, important, and significant chocolate was; why it was a "treat" in the Red Cross packages; and how it could be a valuable bargaining chip when necessary (also what a sacrifice it was to the person using the candy). In my mindset - thinking of present day - chocolate is an everyday, easy to obtain item with SO many different varieties and choices. I have to remember to shift gears and put myself back in the story's time period. Thanks again for an interesting story and a history lesson to boot.
snooky-9093 chapter 1 . 10/13/2010
Loved it! Particularly the back story. I never get tired of different takes on this scene.
ColHogan chapter 1 . 10/11/2010
Great story! Loved the background on Newkirk and his gradual progression into his feelings about Hogan seeing how he previously felt about officers in general. Everything flowed so nicely. I loved how Newkirk wasn't about to let Barton get away without straightening things out and defending his Colonel.
Nitestalker chapter 1 . 10/11/2010
that was good! I liked reading about the scene from Newkirks perspective. Thanks.
estrella2-15 chapter 1 . 10/11/2010
Lovin' it! This is the best version of this particular missing scene that I've read so far. "A born con artist if he ever saw one" lolol so right! And the "get one over on the devil besides" was a lovely touch to a rather cliche phrase. Overall, this story is very good. The background and Newkirk's feelings toward the General (not to mention his rather insubordinate tone) make it a great read. Keep up the good work!
Linda G chapter 1 . 10/11/2010
Every time someone does one of these they are different and all quite good. I'm very impressed with this one!

I really should release mine at some stage...
