This is amazing...I went to a halloween party this past weekend as "The girl with the black velvet ribbon" whose head falls off when her husband cuts it off. I knew exactly where his dream was heading!

Absolutely perfect, that last imagery at the end of the scarf drifting down over his die was beautiful.

Also enjoyed the morbid little dream he had too, great shocking little twist which made me chuckle.

OMG, this story takes me back to my elementary school days when I read "The Green Ribbon" in some book of scary stories. That simple ending line "And Jenny's head fell off" along with the image have stayed with me for years now, so this fic was a delight to find.

I LOVE the way you blended the two, throwing in all the character details of both Arthur and Ariadne, and the real-life explanation and ensuing fluff was wonderful.
