I really wanted Merlin to tell Arthur everything, I felt so bad for them both. I get the feeling that if Arthur threatened to tell Gaius that would get it out of Merlin, but I don't think it would be very productive to their relationship.

This seriously brought me close to tears. I love the dialogue between Arthur and Merlin, it's beautiful. I normally don't like second person, but in a short story like this, it works really well. Another really good story.

'It's a very simple drink. Cheap – inexpensive.

Yet he treasures it.

And you ache.'

Again, just beautiful! I wonder why barely anyone else has reviewed this? It's so poetic and wonderful. The switching from 1st to 2nd person works extremely well. The fact that you repeat lines in the 1st person sections is really cool - it shows that they're so similar.

I love the way you don't explain it all the way, it leaves a sense of mystery. Again, this is amazing )

I'm glad you carried this on. It was another beautiful piece of writing and although Merlin is still unhappy, I feel that Arthur will make sure his depression is more controlled now. I love this fic and I hope you'll write a sequel, but I understand if you want to stop here.
