See, this is why I kind of hate Michael Bay for killing off Jazz. I always thought he had a hold of the concept of humanity more than any other 'Bot, and this just proves it. It's beautiful and poignant, but still subtle at the same time. I like how you did it - through Jazz's eyes with not only sympathy, but with empathy. And I totally wouldn't mind if stuff like this expanded into a series of ficlets, because it could be really awesome fun. All around, lovely work!

Really touching story, almost got me to tears, it's sad, but I've been in his position. Never wanted to kill myself, but have had similar occurences with the popular crowd, I can relate. Very well written.

wow, that was...great! especially reading between the lines of what jazz was telling the boy - shows a lot what he thinks about their endless war. any chances for a sequel, where danny meets 'james' again after a few years - and sees/realizes hes a mech?
