As for Stefan, he never loved or really cared about anyone not named Damon, Katherine or Lexi.

My favorite part of that whole exchange in the tomb is when Katherine tells Stefan that telling Damon to protect Elena no matter what was the biggest mistake he's ever made. A pity you didn't include that.
