Reviews for Dead Letters
Angela M chapter 1 . 6/20/2019
I really liked this take on a post-cyberwoman story. I especially like your portrayal of Gwen. Too many times in a Janto story there is such mean spirited Gwen-bashing, but here I think that you very much captured what Gwen is really like, well meaning. I also liked the can Jack be trusted quality too. It was a great piece of work.

Perfect! Gwen is just right!
sd4ianto chapter 1 . 9/25/2013
Yea like Gwen actually cared like that. You must like and think highly of Gwen. I like and think a lot less of her.
Maharani Radha chapter 1 . 5/7/2013
You know, I honestly don't like Gwen, but I don't think she's an inherently bad person. I could honestly see her doing this.

Loved the ending by the way :D

Great job!
veritas6.5 chapter 1 . 3/26/2011
I read Anatomy of Melancholy before Dead Letters, and I'm very impressed with both of them, being able to see an alternate view of the same situation. I loved both. Please write more.
hklbry chapter 1 . 3/19/2011
This was a really well written story. I find Gwen difficult to write so I'm especially in awe by how nicely you've done it. Well done!
paper.creations chapter 1 . 1/25/2011
This was excellent. I'm not a fan of Gwen, but I thought I'd give it a go, and I'm so glad I did, because this was brilliant.

Your Gwen was competent and caring and her relationship with Ianto was wonderfully written. And I'm surprised that I liked her so much more than Jack! You didn't write him as this ridiculously over the top romantic who fell into Ianto's arms, etc. He was distant and hurt and borderline cruel from Gwen's perspective, which I suppose he would be to her. And Ianto, oh Ianto, my heart bled for him.

Loved the pub scene, the comradeship of the four of them was adorable. Grossest alien, nice :)

Fantastic one-shot. I really enjoyed it.

I'm very surprised by the lack of reviews for this story! I find it rare to actually read a story were I love an author's characterization of Gwen. Normally, I'm not a big fan of Gwen but when reading this, I couldn't help thinking that; if the actual show was written with this version of Gwen in mind... Well, I would respect her character. Other than that, I love your Ianto and Jack- I have no words to express how much I'm in love with your piece of fiction. Totally worth reccing and rereading.
akawho chapter 1 . 1/10/2011
I like the way you write Gwen. You should definitely write more Torchwood stories.
mysterious advisor chapter 1 . 1/10/2011
Amazing new view of the jantoness present in the first season. And I can't help but like your description of Gwen. Loved the story, loved the interaction (hated Jack a bit, but hey, that's normal), loved everything ;)

Keep up the awesome work!
deetatarant chapter 1 . 1/10/2011
Makes a pleasant change to see Gwen writtn in such a positive light. It was a very enjoyable read and a good annalysis of both her and Jack and their reaction to Ianto's decline...well done.
Roslin chapter 1 . 1/10/2011
That was fantastic! You should & please do, write more Torchwood stories.
CSIGeekFan chapter 1 . 1/9/2011
Absolutely fantastic story. This is one of those rare stories that really delves into Gwen's character. I loved it because it comes across as a story that studies Ianto's reaction to the loss of Lisa in a more realistic manner, and captures Gwen's role in Torchwood. Plus, it touches most definitely on Jack's interactions here. There's still that air of mystery, but it really weaves the relationships together. Thank you for writing this.
workingsomecoffeemagic chapter 1 . 1/9/2011
Really good story! It's quite probable that the different characters would react in this manner, it's just a shame Ianto doesn't keep spending time with the others... Great story! Maria x
Quiet Time chapter 1 . 1/9/2011
I've never seen Gwen so well portrayed. Great job.
