The whole haunted, traumatized Cousland thing is working pretty well!

I find you story really interesting - it shows a whole other perspective of the Human Noble, who lost everything. I always found that in the Game it was forgotten to quickly (although it is understandable, since it is but one origin) - so seeing this piece gives a nice insight into a really damaged person, who does not even know why he keeps on trying.

Also, I really like your way of writing. )

I'm not sure if you know or not, but I just read chapter 1 and you have twice in the chapter used the name Aiden instead of Derek. It makes it a bit confusing to suddenly have a random name in there. It isn't a major deal, but I thought you'd want to know.

Liked how Derek conscripted Jowan. From what I've read, he originally was slated for conscription before the idea was tossed out.

Dog is awesome. The only companion who never hates you, and brings you presents. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who dislikes Wynne. She's so preachy and hypocritical.

A nice chapter. I liked how you brought up the 'what is your past?' conversation at camp. It's kinda difficult to transfer the two person conversations into a group setting, but makes more sense outside of video game schematics.
