Teobi chapter 7 . 2/19/2011
OH, GORDON. In trouble again! Only Gordon would get himself trapped under a tree branch!

I know at the beginning of this story there was a bit of criticism about the character of Avalon, but there's absolutely no reason why a woman shouldn't be a kick-a.s.s action hero like Lara Croft or Ripley from Alien. I thought Ava was okay, and as this was a movie-verse story, her character wasn't all that out of place. I enjoyed it anyway, and I'm glad you went ahead and finished it.

I also liked the way the guy was like, "rescue me? I don't think so!"

There's gratitude for you!
Teobi chapter 6 . 2/19/2011
I think I have found my favourite expression ever.

'Virgil was very strict on how his 'Bird was looked after. If you didn't treat her with respect Virgil would bottle your blood. He got very uptight about it'.

From now on, if anyone hacks me off I'm going to bottle their blood!

The rubber fish in the engine, too. Gordon's such a prankster.

Hmm- curious to know why Ava's in so much pain when she hasn't really hurt her arm that bad.

Guess I'll find out in the next chapter!

NOW I know why I like Avalon. She's like a mini Lara Croft!
Teobi chapter 4 . 2/12/2011
Hey there! good to see you continuing with Baby Tracy! I like her. I liked this exchange:

"Dad? Have you forgotten what you said the first time round? When I said Alan was 'just a kid'?" Gordon said.

"I told you he was a Tracy." Jeff replied.

"So is Avalon. She's a Tracy. She'll work something out." Virgil jumped in.

I always thought Alan Tracy himself was a bit of a precocious character- in the original TV series he's already a champion race car driver AND fully trained astronaut at the age of 21, plus he is seen piloting Thunderbird 1 in the episode Atlantic Inferno. If that ain't someone's idea of a Mary Sue (or Marty Stu) I don't know what is.

Avalon has got herself into quite a fix here. But she's resourceful and smart. It'll be good to see what happens next. Keep at it, JonasGrl!

cant wait to see what happens next!
MiniMinchin chapter 3 . 2/9/2011
Seriously love this :) Cant wait for more as always :)
Teobi chapter 3 . 2/9/2011
Hi JonasGrl. Now, this is exactly the kind of sentence that has the po-faced critics spluttering into their soup-

'Now…let's see if I can't fix my first Thunderbird." Avalon pulled the engine apart and put it back together by dinner time. Even Brains was impressed.'

And you know what? I love it. I love how people get all worked up. You're having fun with this story and so you should be. There's a nice ironic undertone here. Avalon wears pink and kicks butt. Go for it.

Let the critics write their own stories!

Musette12 chapter 1 . 2/8/2011
Oh dear... another of those oh-so-familiar "tracy sister" stories.

Yet again, she is the youngest.

And she has a trendy name that is so out of sync with the real Tracys that it shouts out at the reader.

And she is brilliant.

Her friends adore her.

Her brothers want to protect her

Her father doesn't understand her.

She is a spoilt little brat.

In other words -she is a Mary Sue.

Thunderbirds is about a father and five sons. No daughter. Why do young writers have this fascination with writing about tracy sisters, who are always Mary Sues? It couldn't be that they are projecting themselves into the story?

Sorry - but this is ust a familiar retreading of a not at all interesting theme of a Tracy sister. It seems a particular fascination with girls under 16 for some reason. There's nothing her to grab the more mature reader's attention
