Can someone please just hug Percy already?

WOW. WOW. This was really good, both content and writing and characterisation. I've never considered before that Percy would remember the war... great job and thank you for sharing this with us!

Love this, so much angst and deep thoughts. Interesting to see things from Percy's POV.

I love Percy he is just so misunderstood and its really sad!

This is so powerful. It felt like you didn't even write Percy, you /wrote/ him; all of him, with his fears, loves, and insecurities. You placed a real person on paper, and that's an accomplishment. I thank you with all my heart for writing this; I loved reading it, and I feel like I know Percy better now.

"Percy knew of ways to have fun—he enjoyed wizard's chess and though no one ever wanted to play with him he liked Exploding Snap too—but he didn't know especially well how to execute his ideas of fun." Percy is the ordinary, unremarkable one - he doesn't know how to be someone. From a little kid that couldn't be a kid, to a young man who wasn't around when they handed out directions for Life.

Very nice use of word choice. Repetition of "nameless thing about to be born", and in the end "it couldn't stay here any longer". It, not he. Gives a new meaning to "Percy was gone".

He's still a prick, of course. It's just that he's also a person, with very real problems (at least on paper).

Thank you. I always felt Rowling made Percy to fill a quota but you gave him a voice.

Wow i never really thought about the fact that most of the kids at Hogwarts grew up in a war only the adult really talk about it not the kids only a few years younger than Harry.

Brilliant. So many people vilify Percy, or else turn him into their idea of a hero - thanks for explaining his so well.

This has given me more insight as to why Percy acts like this all the time. Thank you. :)

I think you did a very good job of painting this picture of Percy. His character and behavior makes much more sense, and the explanations are very believable.
