Wow, way to make Castle come across as a pathetic loser! Castle's role in Beckett's life, in your story, is of a glorified servant. It's always about her and never about him. I don't really understand the fixation on Beckett by a lot of writers as if she's this complex character which no one really understands even though in actuality she's just a self-absorbed, rude and a bully of a person who's incapable (reluctant to be more precise) of staying in a stable relationship which is why she hides in a series of one night stands just to satisfy her physical needs (Josh & Rick). Had the sort of behavior she had towards Castle throughout the series portrayed by Castle instead of her, I'm sure he would've been one of the most hated characters in Television but since Beckett is self-sufficient and 'independent' extraordinaire, everyone falls in line to praise her. That is not to say that Rick is any less blameworthy in all of it. He encouraged and tolerated her emotional abuse towards him in the name of 'Love'(Lust most probably).

I pity Castle more than anything else. Must suck that he's wasting his life on a woman who will never give a damn about him. Sometimes I wish most fanfic authors would just kill him. It would hurt him less if he was just put out of his pathetic misery #IJS

Now, don't get me wrong-i LOVE Castle. But, this kinda makes him sound superhuman. Or desperately in love. Maybe that's it. Good read.
