This is good. It hurt, but it has hope.

For once I’m not overly depressed by this one. This was truly beautiful (and I know I’ve said that about a lot of them but sue me, I’m bad with adjectives P) and I have always liked the idea that Shadow would be good with children like cream. This whole oneshot exudes contentment and purpose, and it just feels *right*. You’re serious Shadow is great as always.

I like the idea of people dying in the chaos incident. Obviously we never heard about any of that but would it have been realistically feasible for EVERYONE to be saved when half the city was flooded? It just makes it more realistic. Great job once again. )

This was really sad. Especially since I've read "Life could have been so different". I don't know if you told us about this story in LCHBSD, but if you haven't, you really should! Especially since the other story had a happy, alternate ending. It gives us a nice contrast, and shows us how Shadow's life actually is like at the moment.
As for a different title... probably something like ...err... "Gemeinsamkeit"? Shadow and Cream have something very important ...in common (okay, that doesn't sound too nice. But there probably are synonyms, if you like the idea).
...This definitely sounded better at midnight when I was half asleep.
My favorite scene: The period when Shadow is alone. It really makes me sad. I really hadn't thought of how it really is for Shadow when she is dead... What hit the most was her empty grave. Probably because that is something you take for granted, at least being able to burrow the ones you love(d), but for Shadow it's 50 years too late...
There was a small thing that troubled me a little. But, yeah, it REALLY isn't important: When you wrote "The shadow of Angel Island falls on him and...", it gives me the impression that Angel Island just suddenly floats past him. Fast. And that seemed kind of absurd. But...yeah.

I love this story. It's so sad; I really feel for Shadow. It must be so painful to live with the fact that his only friend is gone and it's fifty years too late. It reminds me of the poem
"A Man said to the universe:
'sir I exist!'
'However,' replied the universe,
'The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation."
because the world has completely forgotten about the whole ARK incident, but to Shadow it seems like only yesterday. I can only hope that he learns to live well.

Well hello there! (Note the cheery greeting in an attempt to distract you from my lack of reviews lately, heh!)

I really like the play off of Shadow and Cream; I don't really ever see those two interacting much, and I love the way they bond. I think it's definitely a different side to each of them and I like how you pull it off. Woot for adding a story to your collection of genre's too, that's an auspicious task. (And you're doing extremely well at it, you have incredible motivation! [/jealousy])

I'm curious (that is, I can't remember) if this is a new style for you, the writing in the present tense, that is. It's definitely different, but it does work really well for this story.

Your knowledge of the Sonic extended universe astounds me and arouses my geek envy. ;) Good luck on your exams!

Simply beautiful. Not only the way Shadow somehow finds the words to comfort Cream through all that pain, but the way it somehow eases his own sorrow at the same time. You really do have a gift for writing characters in a manner that allows us to care for them, and thus empathize with their hardships. Tying in the tragedy that was Perfect Chaos is also a nice touch, tying Cream's saddness even more firmly to the overall story of the Sonic universe, making the story feel little more alive, if not more joyful.

This little thing was a pleasure to read. Hope you did well in your exams.

Awww... that was both sad and adorable. I didn't expect the ending, although I should have- I always had the thought Cream and Johnny were related myself. Although in my mind she was one of his many, many cousins. Bunnies and their big families... XD

You, I must say, have a gift for writing with Shadow. Cream was the perfect character to throw into the mix, too. She's sweet, innocent, naiive, and dealing with the pain of loss. Sorrow is usually so unbecoming and out of character for her that most try to avoid something like this, but you embraced it head-on! Wonderful job. If it's not obvious by my many reviews, I adore your work. :D
