I really do agree that Dean was just too shocked and scared that Sam was leaving to react at the time. And he also probably realized that he still had to live and hunt with John to risk losing him off. I also like to believe that John did check on Sam every now and then. I was not surprised at how ruthless Dean was when it came to protecting his brother. Moments that stick out for me are when Sam held on to the amulet when they were hiding, and the sing-along! :) |
