I don't care how long it has been, I still get the urge to come back and read this story every once in a while. I think its adorable and I love seeing my favorite characters get described from a new character's pov. This will always be one of my favorite Narnia stories that happens outside Narnia.

This is a story that I read for the first time a few years ago and keep coming back to. The writing just has this quaint English air that makes me smile every time. The way you bookend both the introduction (decent...indecent) and the whole story (Walsburg pub... New Narnia) makes the whole thing very satisfying to read and ties it together nicely. The descriptions are clear and build a delightful scene for the reader to explore through the story. Chesser is a lovely old man and I would absolutely eat at Walsburg. The humor is subtle and funnier because of it (and so very English). The characterization is delightful, and Peter & Edmund's interaction is just perfect. The little references to Narnia that Chesser doesn't get adds another layer to the whole thing and makes me feel like I'm sharing an inside joke. The little speech Edmund makes to the criminals just showcases his abilities and true nature - letting King Edmund peek through. I love the way Chesser sees the changes in the boys, from their mild-mannered English personas to their true selves. At the same time, while the boys act different, they are clearly the same people.

Great story.

I have been working through your Narnian stories for a few days now and I am continually stunned at the utter beauty of them. The relationships between the siblings is wonderful and I adore reading about them back in England. It's been hard to find good England stories but these are splendid. Thank you, and I can't wait to read the rest of them.

You know, I'm really starting to like pe verse stories. It has a veryhomey feel. For some reason. This was very entrancing. Loved the atmosphere of it. I knew it was Edmund! :-) though I suppose the readers were supposed to guess by then? :-P
