A wonderful and canon-compliant Darcy. We all know he is a man ruled by both logic and romance/passion. This is exactly what he would do.
I read that someone had complaints about the pacing. I really don't see it. Yes, one might tell the same story with a different pacing, but I actually find this perfect as it is.

Just one thing, in first paragraph after the words "Then he had found him" it should be "reined in his normal activities" not reigned; that's what kings and queens do, or even a reign of terror. Reining in comes from horse riding activities, to keep on a tight rein etc etc.

One of your reviewers wanted to tell you in great detail how you SHOULD have written this story. Please take no notice, this is writing of the first caliber. This is definitely one of the best stories on here. Bravo.

This was absolutely fantastic. The writing reminds me of the Bell Jar. It’s beautifully dark and well-crafted. One of the best works I have read on this site.
