Great story! You brought Dr. Seuss into the story perfectly! A wonderful tie-in between a lovely moment between mother and daughter, and a lovely moment between daughter and her "always." Loved it!

Really enjoyed this story, very warm abd magical. Makes me think I should take a look at some Dr Seuss books - they weren't a feature of my childhood at all.

Oh my goodness! This story brought me to tears!
The part where Kate and Johanna go on the carpet ride reminded me of myself, a bit younger than now, with my own mother. It used to be just the two of us. Now she married and I have little sister I love to pieces, and these special alone moments, just the two of us, are becoming rare. I do love her though, and you're a genius, that was my favorite book as a kid too.

I know exactly where I want to go on my carpet, and I know It'll be with my mom, for now.

I loved this story. It was cute. I thought Castle suggesting a magic carpet ride was odd, but could understand its purpose in the story.

Overall, I would say that the timing of the benefit was fine. I would say that if the benefit was in the fall then they would know how much money they had to give away/how many they could give when scholarships are given out in the spring (applications are generally due in Jan/Feb). So it sounds good to me.

I just found this for the first time and enjoyed it immensely. But I have one thing to say above all. Thank you for not copying the way the show keeps edging Kate toward freaky.

I fervently hope the recent talk with the shrink indicates good things to come, but I fear it will be back to the agonizingly slow, anchor dragging pace of commercialization.
