Ahh, thank you for this! I really like Dean's friendship with Cas (and Sam's too!) which only made this episode harder to take. The fact that brotherhood comes first, though... that helps, haha! And I love how you've shown Dean's emotional conflict and the strength of his resolution in your writing. Thank you so much for sharing!

Yes, I am so glad someone wrote this missing scene in its entirety. Loved it. And yeah, Cas hurt Sam pretty bad, which makes it a bigger wonder that it is Sam later, who forgives him first.

So, your description of how Dean felt about Sam's pain damn near made me tear up. It was heartbreaking in all the right ways.

Just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your story.

It was an extra insight into the characters feelings, and reflected the same sentiments that I have for the way Castiel behaved towards Sam and Dean.

Towards the end of your story you listed all the wrongful actions taken by Castiel against the boys, beginning with him bringing Sam back souless.

It is impossible for me to believe that an angel, whom we find out later, is on the search exactly for a lot of the above-mention souls, wouldn't realize that Sam didn't have one.

I would also add to that list the opening of the panic-room door in season 4 so letting Sam out to get to Lucifer in the first place

I'm sure that Castiel didn't confess that to Dean.

He was very cruel in bringing down Sam's wall because he did it lucidly.

He could just have put the boys to sleep or sent them to another locality.

In Dean's shoes I would never forgive him but we will have to wait and see what the writers decide to do.

I am glad you didn't sugar-coat Castiel's actions, as I have read stories in which the boys are depicted as being in the wrong and not understanding Castiel and his Bigger Picture.

Just a word about Bobby. I found that not telling Dean that his brother had been out of Hell for a year was completely out of character for him.

He must have known how Dean would have been suffering thinking of Sam in Hell, ciao.

i absolutely love reading your stories! this was awesome. i wish that this had been a scene in the episode! cas really did cross a line by purposely hurting Sam and i do think that Dean would kill him!

THANK YOU! So well put! I'm furious at Castiel for hurting Sammy. He meant to hurt him. He meant to hurt Sammy. He was supposed to be Sammy's friend. He was supposed to be all of their friends. How could he? I want Dean to get revenge but I'm not sure what he's going to do but I want him to do something. Poor Sammy. Why Cas Why? So well done! I loved it!
