What an awesome one-shot! Both Lisbon's and Jane's characters are terrifically written - very true to the originals.

I loved your examination of Lisbon's thought processes. You really do a great job describing her ambivalence and confusion as she realizes that the man who is part of her team, part of her family and a real friend, has just committed the sort of heinous crime that would have her itching to throw him in jail and throw away the key. It's very clear that she thinks she should feel this way about Jane, but she just can't. Instead, she's more worried and frightened that he's finally done something she can't help him get away with.

Jane's reaction was equally awesomely written. You can nearly feel the relief wash off of him, knowing that he's realized his ambition and achieved his need for revenge. His need for Teresa to understand this from his perspective, and to know how much she and the team mean to him, are very poignant and yet not at all maudlin.

I really love this. Thank you.

Unfortunately, made completely untrue to canon, thanks to 4x01 and making Carter not-Red John. But still, an enjoyable piece nevertheless.

Argh! I can't wait for next season so we can see what happens to Jane. I can definitely picture Lisbon visiting Jane in a holding cell. Nicely done.

Well this just has me itching to see all the other episodes, so I can find out what all of these references are-such as the man crush(?)-. Anyways, I really enjoyed this. Obviously I don't know much about the characters and their dynamics just yet, but I liked Jane and Lisbon's relationship in the finale and this felt right. Great job!
