Reviews for The Inimical Prey
LM395 chapter 18 . 8/20/2017
Wow. Absolutely fantastic! And if you're reading this review and haven't checked out the you tube vid (link in profile) it's utterly magnificent too! Amazing stuff. (Heads off to read EVERYTHING you've written now...)
Clare Prime of Ultra chapter 18 . 6/7/2016
This was a really cool Doctor who and predator crossovers! :0
Guest chapter 18 . 3/1/2016
fucking awsome
Alliance Empire chapter 18 . 3/18/2015
There needs to be more stories like this.
ThePiedBagpiper chapter 18 . 12/20/2013
Good stuff, mate. Quite good. Some good tension and emotion to be found, and an overall good read.
The only somewhat major problem was that your physical descriptions were sometime a bit off, like how the queen wasn't big enough, the Time Lord Xenomoprh didn't get enough description and the landscape was sometimes hard to follow.
mavic chen chapter 18 . 3/18/2013
Having him admit to himself that he needs someone ignores the fact that he WAS on his own before this, a few times if you know where to look. There is a Where's Waldo-style picture showing the Tenth Doctor, the TARDIS, and many other sci-fi characters including a Predator. Enter Doctor Who and Predator into Google and you'll find it.
Reishin Amara chapter 18 . 1/15/2013
...Ab So Lute Ly brilliant!
Primal Chaos chapter 18 . 6/30/2012
Hmm it would be interesting to see what the doc had to say about's the space jockeys and learns the aliens are actualy a bio weapon made by them i could see the space jockeys being the race that took over with the fall of the time lords
Marcus S. Lazarus chapter 18 . 6/29/2012
The start was simple, but the concept was more than enough to catch my attention- the Doctor versus the Aliens and the Predators? What is NOT cool about that?-, and the plot more than lived up to expectations, I assure you.
The Doctor’s dramatic ‘introduction’ to the xenomorphs perfectly fit the mood of the original movies, and the complications as he discovers the nature of the ‘survivors’ in the ship added an interesting twist to the plot even if the Doctor is still going to try and save them.
His utter helplessness in the face of Alien infestation is well-contrasted by his resolve to try and take action to get the remaining survivors to safety before he succumbs himself, to say nothing of the dramatic complications caused by the Predators’ addition to the equation as they seek the honour of hunting the last Time Lord (Even if the question of what will result when the Doctor’s chestburster ‘hatches’ are also important).
Tevo’s history is also well-developed, with the circumstances of her rebellion against her father making her more than just a conventional space pirate to give her an engaging background beyond her current role as the Doctor’s one-shot companion, and the Doctor’s subsequent fight with a Predator was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate his own knowledge of hand-to-hand; the Third Doctor might have been the best when circumstances forced him to defend himself with his hands rather than words, but the more physically capable Doctors (I’m discounting the First, Second and Seventh from that ‘list’ for obvious reasons) weren’t exactly slouches either, and the Tenth neatly shows his ability to use his body as well as his mind in a fight.
The final clash with the ‘xenoLord’ (For lack of a better term for the Doctor’s would-be chestburster) was definitely effective; a greater amount of detail to demonstrate its supposed intelligence would have been more interesting to establish the threat it posed beyond its ability to heal, but the Doctor’s method of disposing of it was still brilliant in its simplicity.
Hope you haven’t abandoned the thought of a sequel; the possibility of a reunion with Tevo and/or a rematch with the xenomorphs or Predators would be equally interesting to see in detail.
mark3232 chapter 1 . 6/3/2012
This is going to sound really silly, but there has been a real Doctor Who/Aliens crossover. It's title? RED DWARF. The TARDIS is seen in Demons and Angels and a Weyland-Yutani ship is seen in Psirens.
biomechanical chapter 18 . 2/9/2012
So there I was rummaging through Dr Who crossover stories when I found this one that includes my other favorite alien, the xenomorph. Oh My God. The suspense in this is unbelievable. I was holding my breath the entire time reading this (ok not literally, but I did a lot of gasping at what was happening to the Doctor). This story is so well written, you deserve medals! Thank you so much for seamlessly combining xenomporh, predator and Doctor Who universes into one beautiful story.
Empress Akitla chapter 18 . 1/7/2012
Okay...this has got to be the most single handedly terrifying and most suspenseful storry that I've ever read! All 3 and 1/2 hours of reading this and I was on the edge of my chair going 'no, don't do that' and then especially 'nooooooooooo!' when the Doctor got acquainted with the facehugger. Not my usual style of story, but very good and well written. Bravo! Now I'm off to probably go have nightmares...thanks a lot...:P
Sparrow9612 chapter 13 . 8/22/2011
Good chapter. Tevo has quite an interesting history. I found a small mistake about the xenomorph pressing up against the Doctor's lungs. Time Lords actually don't have big airbag lungs like we do. Here's what is says on the Gallifreyan physiology page on the TARDIS wiki:

"In order to use their two hearts, Gallifryans had an advanced respiratory system. Instead of large lungs, they had a series of pulmonary tubes parallel to the lymphatic system. This made them positively buoyant, allowing them to swim with ease."
Blackadder VII chapter 18 . 7/9/2011
This chapter was a brilliant end to a brilliant story and I absolutely hope you do a sequel to this story. Or another story with Tevo in it, because 'trigger-happy, relentlessly argumentative space pirates' are cool. An I'm glad my review helped you out, I was simply returning the favour. This story is easily rates 11 out of 10 for being so damn awesome.
Card Carrying Villains chapter 18 . 7/9/2011
I've really enjoyed reading this! It's a very cool concept for a crossover, and you may have actually motivated me to watch AVP (I've seen Alien and Aliens). There were some typos here and there but nothing drastic, and you write Twn very well. I think I'll go read some of your Doctor Who fics now.
