Reviews for Morality
fantasychica37 chapter 1 . 4/29/2016
... If this is the way the core worked, you're right! Which could mean that it's the scientists' idea of morality... so much philosophy! Aristotle versus mashy spike plate indeed!
Ravenhold Ivy chapter 1 . 8/13/2013
Deep stuff. Very good origin story!
Emma James chapter 1 . 3/3/2012
This was wonderful! I like the theory of Doug being Chell's father rather than Cave... it appeals to me for some reason. I loved your inclusion of that line from The Tell-Tale Heart! My eight-grade reading class studied that story, and I loved that story. Keep up the good work!
Merina Thropp chapter 1 . 3/2/2012
Oh gosh. Fantastic last line. Sheesh XP heart went *thump* haha.
TearStainedAngel24DEACTIVATED chapter 1 . 1/2/2012
Ah, Edger Allen Poe...I know nearly every line of that story. You know why? I had to write a three page essay on it and spent nearly half a year studying his works BL

As always, an amazing story. I love Morality core and how you explain why he remians silent.
infinityphoenix chapter 1 . 7/6/2011
Hey, there's that deeper meaning that I was talking about earlier!
Master of the Boot chapter 1 . 7/5/2011
I like this one. It explains why the Morality core was silent.

I really like this story and how it goes deeper into the mind of the core who died doing what she believed was right :D

Niqi chapter 1 . 6/29/2011
Oh my god. The last sentence kind of took my breath away. That's brilliant.
Kagetora no Tsume chapter 1 . 6/26/2011
I love how Morality starts quoting the Tell-Tale Heart after the 'neurotoxin incident'.

Great story!
Natara chapter 1 . 6/26/2011
You have to wonder why Glados seemed to be working perfectly well without the cores in Portal 2, but after the cores were incinerated in Portal 1 she freaked out. I still agree with Glados about hitting the scientists with neurotoxin. I for one am totally okay with it. The children were a bit much, though. I've always assumed the children were in a waiting room or something when the neurotoxin hit or maybe one of the relaxation vaults. Who knows when those party escort robots were first introduced afterall? It would explain why so many of Glados' explainations seemed liked they should be aimed at children. It was because she was more used to dealing with them. Plus, one would think there would be a higher percentage of maleable children than there would be adults. Better potential test subjects! Then again, maybe I'm over thinking it.

On the bright side, very cool story. I always wondered about the absolutely silent core. A part of me just thought Morality must have been busted after the Neurotoxin incident or maybe that was supposed to say something profound about GlaDos herself. Her Conscience was mute. *laughs* If this were an English Lit class I think the teacher/professor would be harping on about the connections between the sphere and Chell.

"They're both silent characters who are supposed to be perceived as good. What do you think the author..*students gradually tune out*"
katzsoa chapter 1 . 6/26/2011
This was very interesting. Intriguing. Thought-provoking. And entertaining.

The Poe quote fit very well, I think.

That last line was like a slap to the face. Woah.
cakeisatruth chapter 1 . 6/26/2011
A very powerful story. And as always, your GLaDOS is spot-on.

Loved it. _
Faux Promises chapter 1 . 6/26/2011
Oh, interesting! I liked this, Morality is a bit of a mystery as far as whether or not she talked to GLaDOS like the other ones did. I liked the interplay between the two of them.

Also I like how you portrayed GLaDOS's anger at the scientists. I always presumed that her own anger at being treated poorly combined with Caroline's latent anger at being uploaded, thus the killing spree. My interpretation is they can share emotions on a sort of base level, and this captures that well in my opinion. :)

Great job~

Best wishes,

PotterPhantomKitten chapter 1 . 6/26/2011
Oooh, Morality quoted Edgar Allan Poe's "The Telltale Heart"! :). I really liked this little one-shot, it was cool that Morality talked to GLaDOS a lot! And that last sentence... Morality has an odd sense of Morality herself.

This was great!
morbus-rus chapter 1 . 6/26/2011
It's awesome. Final words are so powerful!
