I read this fic yesterday and had to wait and sleep on it to write a proper review. The reason for waiting is that I was greatly moved. I cried, not once and not only at the end. I could not articulate my feelings coherently. Therefore here am I, the next morning.
This work is fantastic, melancholic, nostalgic, sad, oh so sad but first and foremost it is real. The possibility of this happening, the gritty realism, the cruelty of life, you captured it fabulously. The idea behind this, the whole plot, I cannot applause you enough! Emotions are running rampant here and my favourite part of sadness was the moment when Augusta held vigil over Minervas body, felt sadness for things that never were and would never be - cannot be. The last chapter I cried throught. I thank you for this work, you are a wonderful writer!

So, is that just the portion of Riddle that didn't become tainted? The one in Minerva? Or did he somehow manage to patch himself up and repent? It seems unlikely.

Harry knew, all along. I admit that putting such things into written word may not have been the wisest idea. Yet, those words allowed the war to be won and the hero to continue onward. If not for that letter, Harry may not have been at as much peace with his death (that did not happen)

You seem determined to mince the hearts of readers. Tiny little bits. All shattered. I have no doubt that the rest of the story will continue to do so.

That letter. Seeing as I've read this over the course of two or three days, I remember it. Still, I can only hazard some guesses as to its true wording. I can only hope that I am wrong about Minerva.

And so it goes. The Battle is about to begin. Minerva's changes don't appear all that substantial, but it's the little things. Butterfly Effect, I hope. What small differences were made should perhaps prevent some deaths.

That explains some things. Still, if her head were to be cut off, she would still die, right? Or could no lasting harm come to her as long as Riddle was alive?

Most of thisbwas the same. There were some small, barely noticeable changes. One could even argue they were canon. Nothing major, yet it said a thousand things.

The characterization in this chapter seemed particularly well done to me. That makes it all the more painful. Why? I hope she dies, actually. That sounds callous. However, it would do an injustice to this story and its message is she were to live. If everything could be fixed so easily, this mess wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Slow, slow torture. I'm just sitting here, waiting for her inevitable death. I don't think what was done with Harry could be done for her. The method Riddle used for her was based in love and the pain her death brought, not in darkness and death. She is no horcrux, even if she holds his soul.

My, my. Things are different. Or perhaps not. However, I was under the impression that McGonagall wasn't acting. I thought she truly didn't know of Snape's true alliance. Now, they drag Malfoy into this? They need a good reason. He may have said that he trusted his Professor, but to what extend can they trust him?

This is always a nice change a pace. Someone who isn't out to show how secretly evil, selfish and iodiotic the characters are. I'm more than a bit sick of all the bashing. It's redundant and overdone. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find stories where the all of the characters are more or less same from bashing.

You are going to break all of them, readers and characters. Despite the subtle hints and remarks, I do not want to accept it. Yet, I must. Minerva wil die.

I see what you meant. Now, if memories are seen, they will most likely be from someone other than Minerva. I did not think that letter divulged her full plan. That would be too dangerous. If he knew, I also think he would try to stop McGonagall.
