I felt like I was /reading/ a cinematography, that's how insane the imagery was.
You have a way with words - for injecting the right amount of drama (that Thresh scene in this chapter when he looked up at them and then the bread and. jeez) and emotion that never quite falls into the danger zone of melodrama. Bravo.
I'm not surprised that this fic managed to nab a victory for itself.

I know it's been years since you posted this, and I don't know if you'll actually read this, but this is a great story! I loved it from beginning to end, and I was just wondering if you'd be able to post some future chapters of what happens next? Or at least pm me what you expected to happen in the storyline. I hope you're able to continue this, because you're such a great writer.

Personally, I prefer this to the real Hunger Games series. No, really. Despite the sadness of Katniss and Peeta being killed within the first few minutes I still think that Haymitch insisting on Ver. 2.0 of the star-crossed lovers from District Twelve and them eventually learning how to stand each other, as well as the basic, unoriginal-loving nature of humans were all shown in the most amazing way here.

Wow. This was Pure Genius. The idea of killing off the version 1 of the star crossed lovers of 12 and Haymitch insisting on version 2.0 was amazing.

Few questions though: Did they make an agreement with Snow that they won't start a rebellion? Or did you mean that to be open ended for the readers? Who won the 74th Hunger Games? What was the extra in the 75th HG/3rd Quarter Quell? Are you planning to write a sequel for this? I'm really hoping you would. PLEASE DO

Words cannot describe how much I loved reading this, it was superb. I cried so many times in so many parts, you really ripped my heart out.
The ending was so great, I love how it was another double suicide and the way you switched the drowning death with the berry death, very clever.

I love how you've written Madge and Gale- they're realistic and believable. Amazing job. :)

I've always loved Madge, from the moment Gale was an absolute dick to her. And while Katniss's and Peeta's deaths actually made me cringe, I'm glad you wrote out this what-if for Madge - and Gale. I like it all comes together, the interactions everyone has after Katniss's death.

This is excellent and touching and layered.

I love it, original topic and the character portrayal is amazing

amazing. really. i never really liked madge's non-existent characterization in the books and she is practically almost what i always thought she would be: a little bitter and smart. i love how quickly the story moves and the descriptions were lovely too. the relationship between gale and madge was perfect: rife with tension and incredibly realistic, given who they are.

truly a work of art. definitely on my favorites :)
