God, I love this story so much. I also kinda like Kate. Say hi to hou from meeeee

I remember reading this back when it was still updating, in 2012. It's probably the fanfic from that time period that had the biggest impact on me, because now, in 2019, 7 years later, I still remember the emotions that it brought to me. Despite its incompleteness, this might be my favourite fic I've ever read. Not the best, but the one I like the most - which to me means more. This fic is the fic from back then that I loved enough to go looking for again and again over the years, hoping that maybe the author had returned from the abyss to continue their work.

I've given up that hope by now, I know this story will forever lay incomplete - but perhaps that too is part of its beauty. Would a continuation written today truly be the same as what might've been written seven years ago? Or would it be completely different, affected by the changes in writing trends and fandom culture that have happened since? And would I have remembered this story as sharply as I do if it'd had a satisfying conclusion, would it have stuck with me for all these years if there'd been a proper ending and a "Completed" sticker slapped on the work? Or is the forever elusive mystery of what would happen to Amy next the key to my brain not being able to let go, when so many of the other great fics I know I read back then have faded almost completely from my mind?

Regardless, I am forever grateful for this story, for the glimpse I got of the world inside the author's imagination, for the laughter and tears and love that it inspired in me. This fic will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you, eternally.
