Great Story! It's sad you didn't continue.

Good chapter. I liked how you specifically mentioned Hei's injuries, but in way that worked them organically into the text. Continuity is always a good thing, and not always easy to remember. And is he worried about Section Four's involvement for his own sake, or for theirs?

I'm a little conflicted about Ayaka's character...on the one hand, she seems to be very flat and stereotypical: blonde, bitchy, wants to go to Paris to be a model. On the other hand, she is being put in a very unusual situation, so maybe she'll turn out to have some hidden depth - there was a hint to that in her reaction to being told that no one would expect her to pull off the theft.

Also, I like how you wrote Hazumi. I didn't like her character in the anime, and I hate her in fan fiction - but you wrote her as capable and non-obnoxious (guess you can't do anything about her stupid price...).

As for the writing in general: This is a complex story, and I'm starting to lose track of who has what spheres, which spheres are which, and who wants what (how did Ayaki get hold of two again?). Part of that may be just the fact that I'm only reading one chapter at a time, and it's easy to forget details in between.

But don't apologize for the pace. First, telling the readers that the chapter might be boring sets us up to expect a boring chapter (even though this one really wasn't; but that expectation may make it seem slower than it actually is). Second: if the chapter really is boring, but contains necessary information, your readers will figure that out and will appreciate it anyway. The Hei POV here was really good: maybe a little heavy on the description, but you were able to convey his current state without wasting too many words, and quickly set up something that we can look forward to in the next chapter (even if it was a bit confusing).

Ahhh I wish Misaki would have told him! Anyway I'm glad Kouno didn't die in that encounter (or Mao ... I love Mao and I'll cry if you kill him ;) and I can't wait to find out what you have planned! Thanks for writing and sharing this story! It's really fabulous to read!

Woah this chapter was really exciting! I told myself I'd only read one more chapter today and get on to the things I need to do ... but the suspense is killing me! Gotta click on the next one ;)

What an awesome chapter. You've done a great job building the story up to here and things are really starting to pick up! I was really excited to see Mao and Hei's interaction here. And I loved Kanami's little outburst at Kirihara! I can't wait to find out what happens next!

I said this before, but I'm loving this! Please keep it coming! Also, I think it is funny that Misaki just says that Hei just escaped before she could catch him. She can't explain how she let him walk away (just that once). I do wonder about Kobayashi's reaction...

I wonder what will happen to Jacob now. I really like the scene in the hospital by the way.

I always enjoy the emotional scenes where characters must face their vulnerability. The one between Kaname and Misaki is well done.
