I really enjoyed your story. The pacing was laid-back, mirroring a relaxing day at the fair. The content was sweet and well thought-out. The only possible suggestion I have is not using the term "tummy" for guys this age; it makes me think of children, or teenage girls. I'd probably just say "belly".
