Wow! What a great story. There's a lot of Sherlock Holmes hurt/comfort out there, but it's hard to find one this well-written. Your characters are well-drawn-not just Holmes & Watson, but also the minor characters as well (Short Henry, Slane, the widow innkeepers, etc). The story satisfies my slashy needs even though it's not offically slash. And the "moral" at the end where Holmes learns that he has more resources than just himself-very satisfying. ... you've succeeded in capturing the spirit of RDJ!Holmes perfectly. The beginning monologue had me hooked, although I'm not sure you can call it a monologue if it's all from the narrator's perspective. Oh well. Anyways, THANK YOU SO MUCH. It's a lovely story and so very wonderful.

A most delicious story about friendship and overcoming adversity! Your deft pen (aproximative translation of avoir une belle plume or une plume adroite in french) served the characters well and allowed the storyline to flow extremely well.

Oh. My. Goodness. AMAZING story! The plot is just...so awesome! However, I believe it WOULD have been better if you'd put it into seperate chapters-it would make for an easier reading (although the internet on this computer is to blame, mostly, as it has restarted at LEAST four times, and I had to go back to where I was in the middle of the story-but it was worth it:D)

Anyways, I LOVED how you gave Holmes his customary inner monologue on the current situation he was in, and I love Watson's reaction during and after his discovery and REcovery (haha) of Holmes. Just absolutely brilliant!

However, you MUST continue this! I must learn who is responsible for holding our poor Holmes hostage, and who has committed the multiple arsons!

I think this was probably the point where I realised that this is probably THE best hurt/comfort SH fic I've ever read (and believe me, I've read a lot). You got everything exactly right and the balance of the story was perfection.

Please, please, say you will write more hurt/comfort - it's your forte!

Love. At first sight. Wonderful story, really. The hurt/comfort is perfectly balanced and there is just enough sense of urgency in Watsons point of view to make the story fly along. Holmes was on the money too. Great job!
