AbyssWatcher chapter 14 . 5/26
First of all and most obviously this story is fucking amazing may the God Emperor bless your soul. And to Shadow Point: Thank you so much the story is indeed NOT DEAD
ShadowPoint chapter 1 . 12/27/2019
Just in case you guys don't know, this fic does NOT appear to be dead. It's still updating, just not on this site. No idea if it was adopted or if it is the same guy, but I found it on a site called the"-" , in their Creative Content section: ?threads/a-fighting-chance-a-babylon-5-au.82/.
Mark1 chapter 14 . 12/18/2019
Damn, just as it was getting good..this fic died.. Damn, just damn
Tweeky chapter 7 . 10/26/2019
Nice chapter, Lightning count, however I object to your highly inappropriate use of the team "Navy" both for Earth Force and the Minbaris space-force. They. ARE. NOT. A. NAVY they are a space-force please get your facts right.
CV12Hornet chapter 14 . 10/16/2019
I suppose there must be additional material on Spacebattles. Any chance of migrating it over here?
Shadowhunter536 chapter 14 . 4/28/2019

JOHN0713 chapter 14 . 5/31/2018
Very good.
Uemei chapter 14 . 3/29/2018
This is wonderfully well written, however I do feel it falls flat for me in a couple of areas. The central thrust of In the Beginning was Delenn's involvement in the extinction of mankind, and it's tolling doom in the next shadow war.

I'd have loved to have seen Delenn glad to have a member of the religious caste prosecuting the war, only to realize he was utterly resolute, and would be more effective against humanity gaining the ability to fight back than any warrior was.

As a rule I'm leery of people using, 'tactical genius,' as justification like in Code Gease, because we have military history in the real world, and we can look at historic genius and weigh their innovations against each other across time. I'm not saying I disliked the membari getting the better of humanity, but it seems odd that this, 'brilliant,' tactic was available in cannon, and not used. It smacks of All Good Things, where in the most brilliant puzzle Captain Picard can solve to prove mankind's worth is… Brendon Braga's paradox?

Likewise it seems a shame that this war was seemingly measured across weeks rather than the two years it took to arrive at earth in the original cannon. I would never want another door stopper like the Dilgar war, but the conclusion of this war was very abrupt.

Most disappointing however is that you've seemingly stopped writing. You've awakened a great desire in me to see what happens if the Dilgar were alive across those five seasons during the shadow war and earth civil war.

I hope you're writing professionally, or else that you'll eventually come back to write here. I'd like to look forward to reading more from you.
Kylia chapter 14 . 2/17/2018
Damn, what a place to leave it off.

If you ever decide to update this again, I'd love to read it.
Reinisk chapter 14 . 1/19/2018
An excellent story. One of the best sci-fi novels I've ever read. Really looking forward for the Next chapter!
mrazab1994 chapter 14 . 12/22/2017
I hate that you haven’t posted the next chapter. I am in love with your writing sir
Wings As Eagles chapter 14 . 11/15/2017
This is what HFY! is all about!
ShadowPoint chapter 14 . 11/11/2017
Simply beyond any comparison. I've been waiting for a story like this for years.

I'd even call it better than the original work, because it captures the essence of each faction as well as the political game they must all play so much more clearly.

The Dilgar addition is also very well done, explaining and excusing the hesitation of the League without complicating the situation beyond understanding. This creates the necessary backdrop for political tension, which is, in my humble opinion, the real star of this show, much more than any one war could be.

I don't care that this story hasn't been updated in 4 years, I don't care that it may never be updated again, I don't even care that it ended on a cliffhanger. As far as I'm concerned, this piece of fanfiction's purpose was to fix a fundamental flaw of Babylon 5 by giving humanity a fighting chance.

At least for me, the outcome doesn't matter as much as the journey, and I'd like to thank you for sending me one one hell of a trip.
