No don't be broken Desmond! Very nicely written, you got to wonder especially with revelations coming out whats happening to Desmond with all the shit that happened to him.

Is it strange that I feel bad for enjoying this? Not for lack of wonderful writing and characterization of course. It gives me the kind of "two lovers holding each other while the world goes to hell" kind of feeling, if that makes sense? I also love the bitter-sweet ending. I'm going to check out some of your other writings right now. .

Was browsing through and saw your name. I immediately went 'YES!' and clicked on the title. I love the emotions buried behind the text. On a segue, I mean, sure, you say Desmond is broken, but it's in how you write that he held Shaun's hand that really brings it out for me. Excellent form, there. And Shaun throwing a fit and deciding to fix him through 'common sense'- agreed. He's been drugged before, so that won't work, there is no one else to compare his case to, so a shrink won't work, but surrounding him with objects that only exist in his timeline would help form a base line for grounding him (unless he starts thinking he's a memory some descendant is having, but then again, grounding in the here and now).

Also, you called the animus 'bit' not 'big'. Might want to fix that typo. But otherwise, my evening has been made (eyes pile of homework). Thank you for posting this, (even if it is old) and I'll miss you when you're busy! See you around! Oh yeah, research on Volacious, I should do that...
