I came back to retread this, and I love it just as much. It is so lovely. I think the Doctor should go back and revisit all those past times with River. That would be utterly fabulous. :)

My country is behind schedule, so I only just saw the finale tonight, but I think it was worth waiting for, to have this to read straight afterwards. I felt so unsatisfied with River's wedding, but your version filled all the gaps.

I'm very glad you made him come back to her... the older River i mean. In that way, she got him, in her past, in her present, in her future, and that's perfect.

I'm not going to comment all the sex stuff, but I like the way you make it full of love and tenderness. It's even a little bit sad at the end... Him, asking her if she would change a thing... whereas he knew one of the next time she will see him, will be the day she will die. I can't take it out of my head, the way joy and love and sadness are very linked in their story.

Do you think he will find a way to get her out of the Library ? I really hope so. After what she's done for him in TWoRs. I think that, if he does not find a way, this story gonna get him crazy. really crazy I mean, not the way he currently is. he has already lost so many friends, his own family, all his people, he can't stand loosing his new wife. Can he ?

I wish the story could have more chapters... I'm still waiting for the woodom !

What I can tell about that chapter 2... after crying on chapter one, there you made me laugh. Your young River is really amazing; she did not want to come, then did not want to go... Love is complicated, isn't it? Especially when the lover is a 11-century-old-Time Lord, that did not come to her for her honeymoon until she was in jail.

and I'm think she is right. Asking him to ask her, properly, and asking him to marry her, properly. And you make him ask her in a very very beautiful way. Marry her all over the galaxy, in all the ways and rituals of the universe... since the wedding, my expectations in wedding had grown higher, but now, because of you (sorry, thanks to you), I also have higher expectations for asking... One of the most romantic thing I've ever read. really. Wonderful. Perfect (again).

And the second wedding... Do you think they'll have a second wedding ? In our real reality ? I don't think so... Unfortunately :(

It's also a little crual. Make him go to the Library, fifteen times (!) to speak to her... so romantic... so hurtful. But i like it, i myself am very often crual with my characters and my readers ;)

the fact that he ran away from her... the younger her I mean. The one he has just married, I really understand it, his fear. But it might be very very difficult for her, the older her, to push him back to the younger herself. Because it is her past, and she needs him now.

I am very keen on that moment he feels so young and so frail in her arms, and she has to comfort him. It is exactly River. Stop thinking of her own pain to comfort him... OMG, that scene is really perfect, when he knees at her ans she knees too, because she can't bear see him like that, because none of them is better than the other, they are just equal, they are just the same... I've been dreaming of that scene for a very very long time (kneeing stuff ;) ) and you described it exactly the way I thought it might happened.
