I went compared some of the details between the fanfic and TV movie, most of them is indeed right. Mr. Simmons mention a project, Arnold winning the project, Arnold's last name is in indeed Shortman (for obvious reasons), the prize is a trip to San Lorenzo, the class going to San Lorenzo, La Sombra captured the whole class of P.S. 118 (even though it was done differently), La Corazon, and La Sombra dying!

But between the two comparisons, it was the best jungle movie adventure I ever seen and... closure to ending one of the longest cliffhanger that was ever needed

I gotta say... after the long years of time that was waited, we finally got the closure we needed! It was long overdue, most of the traits and details between the fanfic and TV movie did meet its expectations but in the end... Arnold and his parents are finally reunited!

In all the time we waited, our prayers have answered, I'm glad to have to stuck the long journey and got the ending we fans needed for closure!

I wish the Hey Arnold Jungle Movie was exactly like this. The actual movie was good, but I think this is how it should have been.

Truly a wonderful story! Portions of the details might have "some" matched alters of the upcoming TV movie but I'll be looking forward to the adventure on 11/24/2017 when it airs

Because of the current state of Nickelodeon, my expectations for Hey Arnold: The Movie are not very high.
