Beautiful! I love this interpretation of Syrena's actions after she pulls the wounded Philip into the pool. And I love the darkness of this fic - that she's fighting against a very pressing and present instinct to consume his flesh, but chooses to save him despite it, because she truly cares for him. Both desires are equally real, and it just makes her that much more interesting to see that struggle written out.

Your writing is just lovely, and I love the dusky atmosphere you've created around the mermaids as a species. "We write their ends with their blood, we take them to the depths, and show them the beauty of the moon beneath the water." Many other eerily poetic lines throughout, but I really liked that one. I love how you discarded some of the superstitions of the sailors in order to dispel some of the fluffiness of Syrena's character that was implied during the movie...well done :) At times I thought you would go overboard with the descriptive language, but you ended up reeling in a lot of it in the end, and the extra details did garner more sympathy/awe/satisfaction from me. I also greatly enjoyed the toughness you brought out in Syrena...overall a great job. Thanks for the read!

Ok i think that you are very talented adn how you describe things but the kiss of a mermaid does let you breath underwater they said that on the boat in the movie buit i was a little confused with all the placement of things like it was just a bit confusing but good ending its heart wrenching

Um... You should definitely write more. Your writing is seriously beautiful. And I love these characters, I was so sad there wasn't more of them in the movie. To add to the love, the dude who plays Philip is just hot and Syrena's accent is gorgeous. I knew when I saw her she wasn't bad! I was like, oh no way.

Wow this is so amazing. I am sick of everyone portraying her as some wimpy, petty, soft character. This is wonderful! I love seeing her inner conflict.
