I like it as a one shot. To the point. Again, the secondary characters you populate your fics with come to life with just a few lines of dialog.

What a lovely story. Salting it with big band music was a nice touch.

Sam at 28 has thankfully mellowed. I can't imagine 17 year old Sam taking the events that lead to the reunion in such stride.

The premise of flushing years on a single misunderstanding is hard to grasp. You've couched it correctly in the narrative so that we are deeply into the story by the time you do the reveal.

An unusual and satisfying fic.

So, you've been having writers block? I'm sorry to hear that but don't worry, I'll be patient and wait for updates to All's Fair. Never will I clamor for a quick update, the creative juices flow when they flow and you can't rush them.

And she's back! Great story, but then again your stories always are.

Too often, stories will bog down into matters of what makes sense or seems honest. Based on that premise, Sam's chance encounter with Freddy would never happen and the two continue on as before, oblivious. And maybe those "what might have beens" are more prevalent and perhaps more realistic than those miraculous and life transforming coincidences. In my opinion, screw realism. We all want that second chance and thankfully Sam and Freddie have there's. Thanks Miss Piggy!

Nice little meditation on the toil and drudgery of life spent in a bitter rut, and how the good things are just as unpredictable as the bad things are. Wow, the misunderstanding that kept them apart in this one was hellishly simple and could've been so easily cleared up with a phone call or an email or something. That's tragic! I'm glad things ended here with a light at the end of the tunnel. :)
