I'm sorry to hear that this fic is going to be taken down, I read this when I was younger and starting in the fandom of transformers and gave me joy about how in a neverending battle for autobots and decepticons, there can be joy and happiness in moments. Especially given how it was a really nice wish fic of the cybertronians being small so they could not really hurt humans but the fun small moments.

I really like the transformers unvierses because it shows giant alien robots who in their time of need find allies in all situations, which is where the humans come in and how they give the autobots reasons to not give in as well as new experiences with their new friends, with the hope for the future.

Hi, I haven’t read this fan fiction, but the description caught my eye and I read the last chapter. I know that you have already come to conclusions, but I felt the need to comment some things. While violence/war is not ideal, sometimes it is necessary. In fact we are described to be in a spiritual war even right now (Ephesians 6:12). There were also times where battles were fought in the Bible that needed to happen. Apologetics could explain better the reasons why, so I won’t get into that. I just trust in who I know God is, both perfect and loving, and good and all knowing about how to make the most good out of our imperfect world for His creations.

Back to Transformers, the way that I see it, Optimus Prime never wanted a war and is always trying to achieve peace with the Decepticons, only fighting whenever there isn’t another option, to protect those who are weaker and his autobot family. There is some media that glorifies war and glosses over things, which is not good, but I haven’t found Transformers to be the case (I have only watched shows from TF Prime and onwards though and 80-90s cartoons in general weren’t as story-driven from what I can tell (I ignore the Michael Bay movies because I don’t like what they did to the characters and things)). I don’t know about Pacific Rim as I haven’t watched it, so I won’t comment on it.

The way I perceive the series, Transformers shows the brutality of war, the complexity of the people involved, and that even when the chips are down and many things have been taken from you, there still is hope. The Autobots still fight to save their home, their friends, their family. And they hope that one day they won’t have to anymore. That one day they can go home to Cybertron and no longer have any more friends die. Optimus never wants the glory, while Megatron always wants the glory, along with Starscream who is always vying for more power and the usurp Megatron. Megatron glorifies the war, Optimus does not. From what I can tell, all of the Autobots and humans are free to leave whenever they want to, but they stay because they want to fight for what’s right and good for the two planets (to save them from the Decepticons).

From what I remember, none of the Autobots were even really soldiers to begin with (except maybe Ultra Magnus). Optimus was a data clerk, Bulkhead was a construction worker, Ratchet a doctor, and I think Bumblebee was just born into this. Stories about war help us relate to the people going through conflict directly and make us want to strive towards understanding and peace when we can, but also to understand that sometimes that’s not possible. War and violence will always be a part of life until Jesus comes back, because there is sin in the world and we all have been given free will to choose what to do with our lives. If there is no free choice there is no sin - no pain, violence, etc., but there is no love either. It may be a bit of an oversimplification, but that’s why we have free will. The fight scenes are cool aesthetically, but personally, I’ve always loved the characters, family and camaraderie the most, followed by the storyline, then the action scenes in last place of importance. Like the father-son interactions between Bumblebee and Optimus and Optimus and Ratchet’s long-lasting friendship. The battle is long and hard, but the good guys will win in the end, which is my favorite kind of story.

Anything can become an idol though, and I understand needing to cut those out of your life, but I hope that maybe this might add a different perspective on this for you to consider too. I hope that you have a wonderful day and that you stay safe too :)
