Kudos :-)
Neelie2009 chapter 1 . 8/21/2016
Truly wonderful story and very witty and in character. I'm slowly making my way through your mm/ss fics. I'm super loyal to my OTP otherwise I would read them all as I live your writing style
Accioscroll chapter 1 . 8/10/2016
Very Nice!
c0ffeeVaMpyre chapter 1 . 4/5/2015
My absolutely favorite Severus story. Well written.
excessivelyperky chapter 1 . 3/4/2014
A very good story, though it makes Minerva a smidge on the super-powered side and leaves out the four Stunners she received to the chest (and leaves out Flitwick trying to kill Snape, too).

Though I wonder if part of Dumbledore's plan is to break up their merry partnership by making Minerva hate Snape; it wouldn't surprise me.

And I doubt that Snape will stay for long; he's much better off as a dead hero than a live Snape, and really, there' s no reason for him to risk Azkaban just because whoever is Minister needs a headline.

Nicely done, though.
MidnightHalcyon chapter 1 . 1/3/2014
I positively adored this story, the tone of it and the dramatic intensity made it a splendid read.
katiealice49 chapter 1 . 1/14/2012
Such a lovely story! Your narrator is, like you, a wonderful storyteller - and quite cheeky, I might add - and leaves me who they are to know that much information. Or is it just artistic license?

Either way, thank you for writing that. It was wonderful.
Quill of Minerva chapter 1 . 1/14/2012
There are many wonderful lines in this story but my favourites ones have to be the following :

"Are my requests exact enough for you, Severus? Or shall I draw you a diagram?"

and

"Gods, no, Severus! Aside from the fact that sleeping with the boss is generally a very bad idea, Albus is gayer than a gnome in a Horklump nest."

You've got Minerva down completely. Simply wonderful.

I have to say - I didn't expect the opening lines of this story to be what they were. I think I snorted my coffee. Nor did I expect the ending and it gave me goosebumps.

What a fantastic story that kept me hooked, guessing right to the end. Thank you.
To your reader chapter 1 . 1/12/2012
She was saying that Minerva was so ridiculously strong that she could have kicked snapes ass or killed him with practly a snap of her fingers. THAT is wrong. She is extremely powerful but common the only wizards alive who could do that are dumbledore and voldemort.

Feel free to message me and we can talk..if you have an account. If not then make one.
Your Reader chapter 1 . 1/12/2012
I'm truly very sorry for this, but... Spender Reid. PLEASE. It isn't necessarily because YOU are obviously a fan of Snape that others cannot consider Minerva as being stronger than he is. There's argumentation to believe that he's powerful, but there's as much available as to believe that Minerva is, too.

While I firmly believe that everyone has the right to voice their opinion, you clearly lack the ability to accept others' if you keep going at it like that.

The story was great in many ways. The flow was impeccable, and what you portray seemed very believable to me. Well done.
Forgot to add chapter 1 . 1/11/2012
I would also like to add that it is cannon that he is a master duelist and has mastered or is extremely skilled in many things like: charms, transfiguration, DADA, potions, possibly herbology (potions after all), independent flight, has made 6 spells, corrected his potions book during his school days, can use wandless wordless magic (only a few wizards and witches can do that) and is feared by many for a very good reason. He can also use his leginimency to read her mind and know her attacks before she makes them. Plus the battle was for real. Unfortunately Minerva did think he was evil and was trying to end him luckily he got away.

So in my opinion it is a stretch to think that one woman could take down another head of house who's also a spy and most likely got taught by voldemort personally, so easily He's no push over. There are two who could end him without a wand though. Dumbledore and voldemort. But that's it.

But I am very sure that he would be hurt badly and so would she had the battle continued.
Spencer reid chapter 1 . 1/11/2012
Its no problem, I open private messaging during the night.

Anyways you said: 'So it's safe to say that, had she intended it, Severus Snape would have been dead before he even saw her wand that night Potter broke into the school and the final battle was fought'

We know from cannon that:

1. Age does not mean more powerful and 2. Snape is extremely powerful and skilled. I refuse to believe that Minerva is so strong that she could have killed snape likity split. We know from cannon that during that battle he wasn't even trying and was strong enough to hold off three very strong and skilled wizards. So that's why I'm getting the impression that you are making him out to be weaker then he really is. Judging from canon minerva was not that powerful. (as powerful as you have written her)

JK pretty much laid down how power works. Some are more skilled then others, some stronger, every witch and wizard is, I think or has a magical core, averadge. Some wizard and witches are way stronger then most: albus, Severus, Minerva, voldemort. and some are just weak. Unlike fencing some are unable or just don't have the strength or ability to improve or get stronger. Its kinda like you are born with it to a certain degree.

We know she is strong and used to play quid ditch, according to pottermore but I don't ever remember seeing or it mentioning anything about her being a champion duelist. Even if she was it wouldn't matter because filius was a dueling champion and snape held him off while doing two other people at once.

I'll open up messaging at 10:00 pm winnipeg mb time and it will say open until 1:00 am.
Kerubim chapter 1 . 1/11/2012
It was good but you did say something that bothered me.

Minerva is powerful but shes not THAT powerful. Snape can fly wand less, do wandless wordless magic, he's not as weak as you say he is. During the fight he wasn't attacking, the only thing he was doing was defending and if he was so weak then how did he manage to brefily hold off and battle all three heads of house at once? Filius is a master duelist, sprout is strong, and Minerva is extremely powerful but shes also old, not as spry as he is and she took 4 stunners to the chest which no doubt left her with perminate damage.

I know this might sound rude but you made her come off as a power sue. A power sue (my own term I made after encountering lots of them) is a character who is made much stronger then they are. They are usually portrayed as so strong that they easily over power other extremely strong and skilled characters (snape) and sometimes have no faults, thus making them a sue.

But the rest was good.
BrokePerception chapter 1 . 1/11/2012
This is absolutely wonderful - like most of the tales you write, and Kelly Chambliss's. You two certainly are some of the most talented on here. I just wish I myself had a morcel of it. It really makes me want to facepalm and question myself what I'm doing here compared to this. XD

You have a very particular style - I'm not quite sure how you would call it, but like you've known her for a very long time or are part of her brain or so. I don't know. The all-knowing narrator maybe. I love it. I love it.

The introduction was poignant. One line ensured me that I wouldn't be able to stop reading until the end.

There were a few lines that made me chuckle aloud, like the reference to his overly large nose.

Well done, indeed.
banshee1968 chapter 1 . 1/10/2012
That is one of the best fanficts (not just SS/MM) I've ever read! I love the very Dickenish quality of it. The way you spoke directly to the reader and how you addmited you did not know everything. I like the mention of Hermione's revised Hogwarts; A History and I wonder if we may see excerpts from it in the future? (Hint hint wink wink nudge nudge) Thank you very much.
