This chapter was a lot of fun, and charming as well. I'm so glad that Arthur relented and "re-hired" Merlin. (Like he did in the second episode of Series 1, when he fired and then re-hired Merlin.) I can't wait to see what the boys get up to next, in outer space. :)

This is an exciting beginning! Is the Merlin AU fic you referred to, "The Final Frontier," by JulieGee? I also read that one, and it was a lot of fun. This one is looking good...please update soon. I love the idea of Arthur as a Starfleet captain, and Merlin as his Science Officer. (I'm also a Star Trek fan from childhood.)
