Beautiful story! Loved all the little missing pieces (of the tv series) you bought into your story, they all fit perfectly. In S1 even tho those 2 hardly had any film-time together, their chemistry was evident; loved how you created a wonderful reason for that chemistry.
I wish you would've added a couple more chapters, including Merle and Ed; however, sometimes leaving a story with sort of an open ending, makes it even more appealing. I will always remember your little missing pieces whenever I re-watch my S1 dvd. Thanx for sharing your talent.

OMG this is so awesome! I love it. I wish you weren't finished with this. I am hoping you'll do a sequel to this. I need more to this amazing story. I love the idea of Sophia being Daryl's daughter. It's one of my AU head canons. I love your version of this Caryl AU Trope. You did an amazing job.

This is such lovely story. Thank you for sharing. I am a recent convert to the show and this pairing so have spent the last month finding all the fanfic I can. This story is romantic, sweet, dramatic and the ending so uplifting (and heartbreaking) that I nearly cried in my car.

My one slight - not problem because that wouldn't be fair - issue, is that I would have loved to seem what happened next with this storyline. Daryl needed to kick Merle's arse for the life he missed with his child. He needed to beat the crap out of Ed too. And he needed to get to know his daughter. And then I suppose I would hope that you would diverge from the end of Sophia's storyline. Or not - it would be interesting if you didn't.

Awe, it's not nice to make people cry when they're not supposed to be reading fanfiction at work. Beautiful writing and beautiful story. It makes the show that much more heartbreaking after the events at the farm. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought there was more going on with Daryl being so determined to find Sophia.

This is beautiful! Beautifully written with a simple prose. What I actually appreciate the most is the emphasis on dialogue between the characters. It almost tells a story within itself.
I'm absolutely heartbroken that they got separated,but their reunion at the quarry makes up for time lost. I would love to see more, but at the same time, the place where you left it off is perfect. There's a strong sense of hope there that's lovely to see.
