Poor Alfie. The trauma of each battle, the stress, heartache, anger, depression he feels added to what he is feeling from his own people. No wonder he developed quite a nasty alter ego. And if he doesn't have a bad case of PSTD after all this, I'll be shocked. He's not only physically being tortured, but emotionally and mentally as well. Poor baby, I wish could give him a hug.

This is brilliantly written. The descriptive writing pants such a vivid picture. The pacing is just right with fantastic writing for DID and history. Just brilliant. I loved this too bits... I cried actually. And its really hard to make me cry. But his pain is so relatable, you really feel as if your in his shoes.

I also felt bad for Arthur, as well as ticked off at his and Francis behavior. I swear though, I'll laugh when they need Alfie's help in WW1 and 2 and complain about him not coming immediately to their aid. Serves them right. they made him feel abandoned, hated, betrayed. And to make it worse, one asked him not to ever speak to him again. Which evil Alfie is using to his advantage, and no doubt America is going to assume the same of France their colonies. Plus he's recovering... So it shouldn't be a surprise that he doesn't want to get involved. To abandoned them as they had him. Or to honor their wishes by not showing up or giving them the cold shoulder when he does finally get involved... All this of course is speculation in case you are planning a sequel for this little master piece.

It sad though, I have completely caught up only to discover you haven't updated in years. I have a feeling I won't ever see it updated, but I can hope. Take as much time as you need. I can wait. But if you don't want to come back, at least I have the story so I can speculate the ending, and potential sequel ideas. I think this is one of few fics I want to write a fanfic for...

Update whenever you are ready. If not, well... As said at least we have some of it. Some is better than none.

Damn, I've been wanting to read a historical fanfic for a while now! Will the Confederate States have their own "nation" or personification? I hope so! That would mean Alfred would have to kill them! XD Of course I'm not happy about the killing, but it'd be interesting to explore how a "nation" is born and killed or disappears.

Last year I had AP US History and wow the amount of detail, research, and effort you put into this is stunning. You translated the history into this story so very well. It's a shame you stopped writing this, just want to commend you on your excellent work.
