This was just too cute. I mean of course there were elements of angstiness but on the whole this was jsut gorgeousness. I loved how the title 'Distance' was working on multiple levels: The inherent distance between Emily and Hotch, especially in light of the 'I love you' she overheard, but also professionally, the distance between Mike and her - through the years and through the physicality of their locations and indeed the distance between past and present. That was so clever and I think, if you read it closely you can really get a feel for all those strands.

I love how right from the off, Hotch is jealous of Mike, even before he has met him and this makes me think that the 'I love you' is more complicated than it might first appear not least because he clearly had feelings for her which he is finding hard to suppress... I love how it was so subtle and yet undeniably there even in hearing her descriptions of Mike and their connection and then extending to when they meet and him trying to exert power over the other man by using his FBI status. Oooh jealous Hotch isn't half sexy though...

Hmmm...

Then you go and make my heart race again with Emily diving right on in there getting caught right on the firing line and injured. I mean I get her sentiment, she wanted to save her friend, but seriously after last time.

Then there was that really poignant moment about the whole Morgan/ Emily warehouse situation - oh it was beautiful and incredible and really worked well.

Oh and Mike visiting her and getting ready to chide her again after the lectures she's already received but then giving her the flowers and asking her out. Such a gentleman.

I love that JJ supports her new found feelings for Mike and supports the long-distance reationship thing and encourages her to move on. I just loved that sentiment and the fact that if Emily hopes to live life to the full she should start thinking of her future.

Although I do get the feeling this may be easier said than done so I am glad there is a sequel which I am off to read now.

awesome story i love the whole emily going into protect morgan thing plus the possible relationship with the old friend and i really liked the last quote from morgan and your ending quote it was all around a great story

This was great. Sorry for not review lately. But you really are a great writer. I hate to be a pest but this needs to have a squeal even if they don't end up together. I like that Emily is smart to move on. Sometimes we don't end up with the one we want and sometimes a miracle happens :) Thanks again!
