Reviews for Resonance Days
Stranker chapter 42 . 7/27
This has been a really fun arc. I look forward to the final battle, and what comes after. I have to wonder how much of their dream memories will remain when this is all over.
Lunarwolf150 chapter 42 . 7/21
Please tell me jerky is gonna attack an intruder meguca, breaking the dream, and leaving kyoko in a *really* awkward spot of convincing char it's okay. Great chapter though. More adorable jerky moments would not be amiss going forward imo
QuantumPE chapter 42 . 7/20
I really want a short "Adventures of Jerky" side story now for some reason. Next question is what is Jerky going to find in the cave?
Samuel chapter 42 . 7/20
I am absolutely confused and amazed at the same time.
I’m so pissed at Kyoko/Ophelia and so happy for her at the same time. I have never wanted to hit her anymore than now.
Imagine them waking up and than remembering everything that happened in the dreams. Like fuck, Oktavia would be devastated. It was so sad to see Kyoko/Ophelia being happy about Oktavia being ,,gone” and her memories being replaced.
Like damn girl, that best friend you’re talking about is Oktavia, not the girl in front of you.

This chapter emotionally beat me to death. Like, damn.
Kyoko is wayyy too obsessed with Sayaka.
SpearWorks chapter 42 . 7/20
Wow, this was a great update. It must be confusing as hell for everyone when each of them have a different set of memories. Sayaka seems to take losing her friends to their witch selves even worst than Kyouko, which is an interesting thing to note. It’s also a good reminder that Kyouko and Sayaka weren’t exactly on friendly terms with each other when they died. Candeloro is also a lot more content with who she is than Mami is (though this is a common thing among witches, as seen in the last bit of WN). Charlotte is switching between her identities like crazy, which is cool to see. All in all, a very nice update.
Stranker chapter 41 . 6/28
I have many questions...

...which I’m sure will be answered in the next few chapters, so I will wait patiently until then. Thanks for the chapters!
James Birdsong chapter 41 . 6/23
Good four chapters
SpearWorks chapter 41 . 6/21
So it’s interesting that the only person who has able to hold onto their current identity was Charlotte. Also the three people who the Rider took the form of: Kyouko, Homura, and Charlotte herself—that means something I’m just not sure of what yet.

We’ve gotten through the four set-up chapters for this arc—with Ophelia blasting in three times with a varying number of companions. That whole part reminds me of the flashback arc in Walpurgis Nights, with Ophelia rescuing the others even in the same order.

Like another review said, I wonder how much they’ll remember when all of this is through.
QuantumPE chapter 41 . 6/21
The real question is how much of this will be remembered once they all escape Dreamland?
armadas chapter 26 . 6/10
Honestly I like the portrayal of disabilities in this chapter and work over all.
I myself am physically disabled (I’m blind and using a screen reader) and I lost my sight when I was about to turn 13 from a brain tumor and I’m almost 17 now. If kubes was real he would of jumped on that real fast lol.

But having a character who is physically disabled in Octavia and having one who was formerly in Brooklyn is very interesting. A common trope in writing is a disabled character being “healed” or “fixed” which is for the satisfaction of able bodied people reading but which often upsets the disabled population because that implies we are broken.
It discounts are capabilities living and succeeding the way we are and furthers general ablest beliefs.
But Brooklyn and Octavia prove the opposite which is refreshing.
The way that Brooklyn wished for her disability to be gone and that has left her just or even more so miserable than before really contrasts common portrayals.
With Octavia on the other hand it doesn’t sugarcoat her struggles showing she still has a handicap but instead how she embraces it and overcomes it.

Well that’s my short essay.
To summarize... yeah you are really good at showcasing disabilities in a positive way that supports the community heh.
PS I was former ally violetzx ha changing usernames is fun.
Guest chapter 40 . 6/9
I'm still waiting for the Sliced Cheese Guy to show up. Though I suppose if he'd be anywhere, it would be in Charlotte's dream.

I am so glad you returned to this story. Thank you.
SpearWorks chapter 40 . 6/8
Warning, this well be long, and not really about the chapter but the story itself, heh sorry.

Okay, I’ve been in love with this story for as long as I’ve been in the fandom. So, it’s been long due that I leave a comment. This story is legitimately my favourite fanfic in the fandom, and one of my all time favourite fanfics in general—which is saying a lot since I’ve been reading fanfics for years.

First off, the characterization is perfect. You manage to nail down every single canon character, with all their flaws and strengths. As for the non-canon characters, they are all so strongly written. Especially Charlotte, who is a character that I love. The different dynamics that she has with everyone feels so natural, and I can say this for any pairing of characters.

When it comes to Mami, everything that makes her tick is depicted excellently, and her relationship with Charlotte is an amazing addition to the story.

You also did a great job in making Oktavia feel like a mix between Sayaka and, well, Oktavia. Plus, you can’t go wrong with mermaids. As for Kyoko, oh Kyoko Sakura, who’s my favourite character of the show, you showed her with so much justice. She’s a beautiful mess of a person. I appreciate how you managed to depict that level of trauma that not only she would have, but also all the other girls who were trapped in the system.

Second, the world building. God, I love the world building so much. It is done so well, that it is part of the reason why I want to talk about this fic whenever someone gives me a chance to. The alien races, the FIB, the towns, the technology that is mentioned, even the amusement park from Walpurgis Nights—it is all incorporated in a way that it’s obvious that the author put a damn lot of though into it.

That’s not even to mention that the difference between what happens to those that die as a puella magi and those who die as a witch. That is a brilliant concept, not only because of the cool witch features; mermaid Sayaka/Oktavia, and for Walpurgis Nights, Ophelia who literally has her head on fire. It’s also because of the beautiful potential when half of the population doesn’t even remember what truly happened to them, while the other half is continuously haunted by it. Not to even mention when you have a case like Kyoko and Oktavia. Ah, the wonderful angst.

Talking about angst, brief break to say that the mentions that they are all slowly slipping in their own ways is pretty great. It’s realistic too, these girls went through hell when their fight is already supposed to over, and the story isn’t even done yet. Plus, Kyoko and Oktavia already have to deal with the usual trauma that comes with being a newcomer.

Anyways, I love how you keep building the world in not just the main story, but spinoffs and even on your tumblr. I find it amazing when authors do that.

Also, points for all the small details that you put in your story. Sometimes, I’ll learn some new trivia from other places, and I’ll have to say “Resonance Days really incorporated that, but I honestly thought that was just fanon.” Huge respect for that.

There’s a lot of things I haven’t mentioned, but this is already getting long, and I have to go soon, so I’ll just end it here. You made a story that I absolutely adore, each and every piece of it, and I just want to say that.

So thanks, and sorry for the wall of text.

Have a nice day!
cafescloud chapter 40 . 6/7
I’m honestly suprised how you’re starting to make me like Mami. (I honestly can’t/couldn’t stand her)

But what the hell goes on in your mind?
Whatever you’re smoking, share some.
Brilliant as always.
Mami and Kyoko kind of show the difference in coping mechanism. Mami is very selfless while Kyoko is very ,,selfish’’, in the main show as in RD.
Kyoko is RD for example doesn’t want to except Oktavia and wants to get Sayaka back by any means. Mami on the other hand simply excepted her even if it isn’t easy for her either.

I actually really really enjoy the dream sequence. It gives off these freaky 90s cartoon vibes. Love it.
(Even though I don’t really understand most of the words—)
Yamimaru chapter 40 . 6/7
Well this was an interesting look at Mami's issues with how she acted as a Puella Magi to say the least. I'm now very curious about what Charlotte's dream will be like, yet dreading it at the same time.
QuantumPE chapter 40 . 6/7
How does one burn a dream I wonder?
