I am tempted to create an account just so that I can comment on your stories here. Again, I am yet to find someone else who describes so well the emotions that the love for another human being burdens us with (burden in a good way). I was ready, together with Kate, to burst in tears as she found herself at the end of the day not knowing what to do with herself. Your descriptions are so vivid, I can literally see her feelings, if this is even possible. Your writing makes me even more invested in Castle's and Beckett's love story.

I've come to the conclusion that you don't just write stories or make-up situations, you create entire worlds within the confines of your stories. Worlds that have a specific pace and feelings and they spin on their own so that it feels less like a story and more like a memory. I'm not Kate Beckett or Richard Castle- they don't even exist- and yet I feel it all, everything they feel. It is always a beautiful moment when you get wrapped up in a story and a devastating loss when it all ends. Thank you for the ride.

I just really like the way you seem to be able to show the love they have for each other without them having to do some grand gesture or say it out loud. They know each other enough to understand what is going on between them. Sometimes the facts just get in the way, like here. Castle, Lord love him, she tears his heart out and he still comes back begging for more! If you want to know how to love, look at how Castle loves.

This is SO WONDERFUL! You are such a great writer; you can do it all: humour (we all know that, you brilliant woman) and emotion too. I don't usually read 'promo' fics (spoilerfree to the max), so hadn't read this before.

This is a re read and oh my god it still has the effect like the first time i read this. Gah. I think my heart just seriously stopped at some point and then it just exploded at the end. I love this story so Much it's huurrrrrrttttttt.

ZOMG even post-Always, this makes me heart break and my stomach twist. It's a really powerful and believable look into her psyche post-47 seconds.

I'm glad she's figured it out in your story. I'm a little surprised that she hasn't figured it out on the show yet, honestly. She probably WILL respond defensively if/when Castle confronts her about it. The way you wrote it was very believable and very them.

"And through it all is the creeping awareness, there all along, that while her original lie is understandable, forgivable, she has had a thousand chances to tell him the truth and she has wasted every one. That Castle would have understood if only she had trusted him." This is what I would call a perfect summation of the situation.

"would he really give up on her this easily? Walk away, just like that?" The way the show has been going the past couple episodes, I sometimes wonder that myself.

THAT'S what they need, to each understand the other's thoughts and feelings on things. They USED to be able to do that so well...not that they communicated about it, but still.

"I always bring you coffee, Kate. I wouldn't just quit." Wow! This has HUGE implications for Caskett. And I think he does bring her coffee in the next episode. Hmmm...

I love that ending. I doubt it will go so easily in the show.

So, not to be a nag, but when is the next chapter of 'The Waiting Game' going to be posted? I told myself I would wait at least a month before asking about it. :)

Great piece! Kinda gutted me, at times, and then it leaves me ultimately hopeful. I loved how he said he won't just stop bringing her coffee. This is the Castle I know! Interesting take to have Kate flip out self-defensively when he confronts her; I'd hope that therapy helped her with that but we have previously seen her use that exact coping mechanism and so it felt very in character. But I also liked how her reactions were accompanied by her own thoughts questioning and judging what she was doing.
