I feel as if they are both incredibly bright and dim in equal turns. Sort of like a lamp. Sometimes it's on and sometimes it's just not. XD Well at least Sherlock helped John figure oh his problem and they're done with their awkward friendship moment. Even if John hasn't realized he already realized he already has a very unusual relationship. Maybe not what they meant but very true. I can't help but wonder if John could even handle another. XD Sherlock is about all the unusual he seems to have time for.

Also, it cracks me up how quickly they switch gears.

Oh my, what a curious begining! :D I can't wait to see who Watson will find for an unusual relationship. My first thought was that this was a good possible crossover, and maybe Watson will meet Kagome from Inuyasha or maybe Setsuna from Sailor moon (you, just casually travelling through time... ;P). Or maybe another crossover pairing that you can think of - I'm sure that would qualify as unusual, don't you? :D
