By the description, this story seemed really interesting. When I opened the first chapter, I was terribly disappointed to see it written in present tense instead of past tense. It's highly advised to write in past tense, especially with fiction. I imagine the rest of your writing elements and technique were great, but I can't get past the present tense thing and therefore can't read it without cringing.

I really like the story overall. The whole Beth/Carver thing is freaking me out about on a shudder level. It will be interesting to see what happens once Malcolm dies because at this point Hawke still seems pretty delicate.

This is a beautiful love story. You portayed young love are are a wordmeister.

Do you have a backup location if you get purged? I would really hate to miss your story. :(

I really like this story. I'd never read it before yesterday. The synopsis didnt appeal to me, but desperation drove me to read this chapter yesterday and the story is NOTHING like I imagined from the synopsis. I wound up reading the whole thing last night and staying up much later than I should.

Are you setting up a comfort-romance for Karl and Anders for after Hawke leaves? It is hard to imagine Anders ever resolving the guilt that would create in him given the character and story laid out so far.

It took me until chapter 3 to really make up my mind on this story, but I really really like it. I loved the whole mother/daughter chat near the end. This is so different from some of the other stories and I really like AU type tales. Please keep updating :)

I love the story. It sounds like it will shape up to be epic. I love the really bitchy take you have on Ariana Amell. It will be interesting when she leaves to be a Warden, or if she will.

I like how you started with Anders. Stories never actually show that he may have escaped 7 times, but he did take learning is magic very seriously. You showed that here by showing him actually studying for a test. That was great.

I like the idea that Marion will only be there for two years because Irving owed Malcom. I wonder what that was?

One suggestion. I really like that you are writing this in first person, it allows us to see into all of the characters. However, sometimes it's not immediately obvious who is talking. I suggest naming the person at the beginning of each POV change or something else to indicate who is speaking.
